Default Mad wheelies.. Prevented

Can anyone explain this ?

I mean, it's hard keeping the front end of my 250 down.

Longer arm = Weight re-distribution. Simple physics.

The longer the arm, the harder it is to get the front wheel off the ground.

He's being sarcastic cuz I bet it is pretty hard to get the front end up on those bikes.

It's kind of easy on mine, just roll through first gear pinned, and the front end comes flying up at about 11k. Not r1 up, but it pops up pretty easy.

Rode my neighbors tl1000r yesterday. Now that thing is a beast. SSooooo much torque.

I have yet to pull a wheelie on the bike, but I feel it's pretty damned impossible.

It's possible. Its just hard. You have to be sitting in gear not floored, but near your power band, roll through your power band, progressively giving it more and more gas, while pulling with your weight, yes, pulling with your weight and the bitch will come free, its just odd feeling at first.

I don't do wheelies, or exercise them, but I have a quad that I do wheelies on all the time, and friends dirtbikes.

If I can get my buddies 50 cc pit bike to do a wheelie, you can wheelie yours.

we used to put an extended swing arm on the race quad to help keep more power to the ground.

it was also very helpful in rhythm sections and landing long jumps.

easy to swap out if you have two rear ends. we had a remote rear brake reservoir for each rear end so when we were at the track we wouldnt have to re-bleed the brakes, and the actuator was controlled by removable linkage.

pop the chain, the brake linkage, and the one bolt holding the arm to the frame. easy

no fun to run the long swing arm in the woods

I can pull wheelies on a 50cc too. Short wheelbase and little tires make it easy.

I can tell you don't do wheelies =) also a 50cc pit bike will do a wheelie if you just move your weight back, even if you use zero throttle. That's called heavy guy on a tiny ass bike. its like leaning too far back on a chair, it falls backwards..... a street bike has a bit more mass and wont flip that easily.

Only way I can see doing a wheelie on a Ninja 250 would be to take it up to about 6K rpm in first gear, guessing around 20mph? then pull in the clutch, blip the throttle and pop the clutch out. also compressing the springs (standing up and pushing down on your legs) might help if done right before pulling back and poping the clutch.

My 600 will pull the front wheel up if I do a full throttle run in first gear but If I lay down on my tank it wont.

For my CBR with my setup, if I take it up to 5500rpm (right when it starts making some power) all I need to do is cut off the throttle and re apply even if its only 1/2 throttle it's still enough to get the front will pop right up with zero clutch use. this can also be done in 2nd gear around 70mph, take the bike up to 12K rpm, cut the throttle and nail it. front end comes up nicely.

My buddy popped a wheelie on his 250 Ninja right in my parking lot...Like Jeffie said, he brought it to about 6 or 7 and just dumped the clutch...he ended up laying it down when he hit the speed bump on one wheel, but he has since gotten the bike fixed...

How to do a wheelie on a ninja 250...... 5 mph, 7k, dump clutch. BLAM! Wet clutch FTW!

Steve, dont extend the rear swing arm its just going to slow it WAY down and it wont turn AT ALL like it used to!

I'm not buying an extended swing arm.

Just pointing out a really funny picture.
