Well it's a diamond in the rough to say the least. 2000 Sportster 1200. Beefed up, not exactly sure how much. I'd like to run it on a dyno before I get too far into it, but idk how likely that is to happen.
Anyhow, ...

| Well it's a diamond in the rough to say the least. 2000 Sportster 1200. Beefed up, not exactly sure how much. I'd like to run it on a dyno before I get too far into it, but idk how likely that is to happen. Anyhow, don't know how many miles are on the bike because the speedometer doesn't work, and hasn't for the last 4 or 5 years ![]() It was my dad's bike, but he's too crippled to ride anymore, so on down the line it goes. Only problem is, my dad has been really hard up for money the last few years, and the bike got pawned summer of 2008. So it's been sitting for at least a year and a half. Lotsa shit is rusted up. It needs brakes, a new back tire at least, and an oil change before I can ride it. I'm pretty confident that it will start up because I've witnessed it start after years of sitting. I'm going to do something sorta classy ratty. Not sure what exactly the plans are yet, but they're in the works. Of course TTIWWOP! ![]() ![]() Check out the old lock, that's my grandpa's. My dad wants to keep that, so I'm gonna get myself an old looking lock. ![]() ![]() ![]() The rex is protecting it. ![]() End product is hopefully gonna look like this. | ![]() Jeebus, you would hate life if you had to ride more than 5 miles on that thing. Why not just have someone hit you in the ass with a sledgehammer before each ride? |

| I would lose the big seat for a solo seat. Then customize the fenders as you see fit. Then repaint with the same color scheme only with flat colors and no emblems. |

| Nice bike. Please, for the love of Jeebus, dont leave the exhaust as is. If you're going with some sort of straight pipe setup at least make it easy on the eyes since it wont be easy on the ears. |

We'll see how it goes. I want short pipes definitly. It has baffles at the head, so its not like its running Klyph style.

| Well I hope the first thing that happens when you pull out onto a public road is you get pulled over for open pipes. I hate open pipes, keep in mind, it's not about you being happy with your ear damage causing pipes, it's every other car on the road that has to drive near you. I'm a motorcycles and can't STAND when some jackass comes anywhere near me with straight pipes, I wear ear plugs every time I ride and it's still annoying as hell. There's loud pipes, and then there's open pipes. Stick with just the loud ones. Don't be cheap. |

| I may find something later, but for now they'll stay.I havent really seen pipes I like, and I don't want to pay 400 for pipes that are all chrome and shiney, or even powdercoated black just to wrap them or scuff them. I'd like just stainless steel blued up pipes, or wrapped shortys. |

The exhaust I like for my bike is $845 $400 for some pipes you're just going to wrap isn't all that bad. Besides there's a thing called ebay, I bet you could find a few pipe options for around $100 if not less.

| Its not so much as a cheap thing as paying for what I don't want/need. All they have are chrome or powder coated. My problem is they don't sell pre-uglied pipes. |

| Have a shitty exhaust shop fab some up. If they're shitty enough, they'll be ugly for you. |

| Lol, by ugly I mean like worn, blued up pipes, not rusting off mandrel bent tubing, but if I go the wrapped route, I was considering doing mandrel bent. I'd still like it to be stainless... Does stainless blue? |

| My stainless header bronzed. Either way it'll look good/a whole lot better. |
