If I see someone riding one of those I'm gonna laugh at their ass. That's just begging to get a milkshake slpattered upon it.

Looks photo shopped to me. Especially the back shot. all those angled lines look like they stretched the tail up.

It's real. I've seen these pics before...

It's to help with wind/rain. Interesting idea, horribly executed, IMO.

Thats one amazing piece of PS work if it was a stretch of the original bike pic... Either its real or done by a pro photoshopper, either way it sucks bawls.

Kriz, You do know you can add elements to a picture in PS, not just stretch/skew whats already there right?

You did read what I quoted, which was from a post you wrote yes? You said it looks like they "stretched the tail up," which would be insane photoshopping if you wanted it to make it look that good. I know my way around photoshop, enough to know that it would be easier to just draw the thing as opposed to stretch it out from the bike itself and also that it would still take some mad skill to make it look that good.

Forget drawing the thing, just look at the detail and realism of the lighting at the joints. I've seen people do stuff like that in photoshop, people who do that kind of stuff for a living though.

I wasnt clear enough in that post I see. The top portion where the lines I wrote of looks as though they where chopped moved and then repeatedly stretched to build height in that shot. The lower portion could be stretched and manipulated to form something like that but seperately from the other portions. I dont see anyone just stretching a stock tail fairing into that shape. Way too much work. To say or think someone would is just rediculous.

I'm with everyone here. That's just fucking ridiculous. I wonder how many times they attached an umbrella to various parts of the bike before coming up with this idea.

The two black lines would drive me nuts on either side of the windshield. I think a better solution is to man up and take some wind in the face or get a helmet. (no offence KRAZGRL)

No offense taken. (why would I?)

I think it's horrific and could pose many safety issues anyway. Imagine lowsiding around a corner (afterall, who ever would put this thing on a bike probably isn't the brightest of the bunch) and being caught up with the bike and the "dome" instead of separating from them... Ouch.

Solution for surviving the elements: GEAR.
Chance of Rain: Rain suit over GEAR.

Okay... maybe this will lay all the photochopping inquiries to rest.

Did some digging around and found the manufacturer.

Rocketshields

Quote:
  • Constructed from lightweight, rigid material
  • Attachable and detachable in the time it takes to remove the front mirrors
  • Uses only existing fastening points on the motorcycle straight from the manufacturer
  • Does not require any extra holes drilled into the motorcycle or brackets to be installed
  • Provides increased aerodynamic performance and stability while riding in a natural "sit-up" position even at high speeds. (Top speedometer reading of 150 MPH achieved)
  • Provides shade for really hot days and shields the rider from oncoming blasts of all the different elements encountered daily ranging from uncomfortable to unsafe
  • Does not fog up like the inside of a helmet visor
  • Does not obstruct mirror visibility
  • Decreases wind noise
  • Can be painted fluorescent orange to compliment a safety vest
  • Provides a high level mounting point for a second brake light
  • Not intended for crash protection, but designed for crash prevention
Patent Pending
Invented, fabricated, and tested by David Fermil

NOT designed for crash protection.

It basically is to provide shade & protection from the elements.

Thats kinda dumb I mean even IF rain was falling at a 90 degree angle from the ground you'd still get wet and if you don't like wind hitting you in the face then why do you own a bike and not a helmet?
