hahah.. i used to do that for a buddy of mine.... looked like a real tag.. then one day he got pulled over for stolen tags that were actually fake..

Thats strange. Never heard of somebody getting pulled over for a stolen insp. sticker.

This worked for me for over 1 year.

we dont have inspection stickers.. we have registration tags that go on the license plate.. they ran his plates and seen his registration was way over due and seen an recent tag so they pulled him over

Chris just do what I did when I had my 1996 240sx with SR.

I NEVER got pulled over or got tickets for an out of date sticker.

Just scan a legit sticker into a computer. Use photochop to remove the other vehicle's name & vin. Replace those items with your vehicle name and vin.

Be sure to manipulate the bar code on the MA sticker so that the cop's who scan it get a scan error and have to manually write down/run your vin to see if the sticker is legit.

Then print the inspection sticker on label paper/sticker paper. Slap some adhesive on the front and place it on your windshield in the correct location.

XD

no good now. the DMV is now notified of sticker issues, and if the cops run your plates it comes up. on my black R my plate number is actually ON the sticker.

no shops around to get a sticker from for an inflated inspection fee?

Hrm, on second thought I had one more thing going for me which helped.

In Massachusetts, the DMV will automatically suspend the registration of a vehicle that (a) fails inspection after a re-test or (b) does not become "re-inspected" in a year following one in which the vehicle passed.

When i bought the 240, i knew it would fail inspection . . . so i NEVER went to get it inspected after registering it. I just inspected it myself and slapped a sticker on it XD.

called you cash, gimme a ringback 508-958-9680

Lol i got ur message and sent you one back. Ill be in the office for 3 more hours.

There were two other things I was going to do to get the car inspected. They were both perfectly legal (i even spoke with state officials).

Call when u get a chance. If i dont pick up, call back in 5 mins or so.

VT with a MA license would be bad since 91 through MA is a major drug route from VT

I don't know how it works up there but in VA, I know a guy that wll take $50 and you registration and make the car inspected. He enters it in his log book, turns in the onion skin, gives me a pink slip ( reciept for the PO-PO ) and everything. As long as I don't end up in a ' malfunctioning equipment" infraction he's safe and I'm safe.

In MA, the DMV prints the sticker for OBDII complient vehicles. The inspection equipment sends the dmv a signal and the DMV's computers respond by telling the computer to print a pass/reject sticker.

Good luck getting around that.

how we did it later. completely legal.

the gist of it was we put george's 99 ecu into my car and ran the MIL cycle and it passed. still failed EVAP but we ran from a warm start and not a cold start - that MIL needs a cold start.

theres alot involved, looks like im going to take up cracking the 1.5 ECU

tomorrow im putting the 2000 ECU back in and selling the 97 ECU.

yay'

you led me astray - i was under the impression you had dismantled the cars OBDII system. apparently the system was still in tact.

nah lol i swapped ECUs with george who had just passed.

odb2 ecu's apparently have a serial number linked to the vin of the vehicle. george's 99 ECU didnt have this serial, and mine did.
