761 pounds is a very specific number.

That's a shame, because my cooler weighs 300 lbs and .. aw shit, it's a trailer.

Dammit.

just a "street race" but its not about breaking the law... it's about getting to a place on the MARKER time. they've scouted the course and have decided it takes X minuets to get from A to B. the closest you are to their point the better. if you speed, you get there to fast. if you get lost, you need to make up time

Turkey Trot Rally Sunday November 18,2007

START
LOCATION: BURGER KING RESTURANT FARMINGTON AVE. (RTE 6) BRISTOL,CT.
Fee: $25 per car (No children or spouses will be accepted in trade)

Registration starts at 11:30, FIRST CAR is off at 12:30 PM.

Come early, enjoy the fine dining and ask as many (rally related)
questions of the rally masters as you want! "How To" tips and other
pointers may be given out at random between 11:00 and 12:15.

TYPE OF RALLY: Time speed Distance - One class only

Line up your driver / navigator and get ready for one fun day. This
is a "starter" TSD - written especially for those who are NOT
experienced rallyists. A set of instructions designed to keep you
ON course, not throw you OFF. This will be a really fun day..
And Remember "If you don't know where you are going, you'll end up
someplace else"

General Rules:
ESSENTIAL needs – Pen, paper, sense of direction. VERY HELPFUL
items to have: sense of humor, GPS ANF FOR THE TOTALLY HOPELESS:
survival gear, Connecticut state map / Litchfield County map /
Burlington town map.

A reliable speedometer/odometer is a definite plus.

FINALLY: Below are the GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS tailored specifically
for this event. If you notice they are a whole one page – VERY
simple rally. If you have never done it before this is the one to
try! Some VERY smooth dirt, no rough roads – low clearance cars OK,
tow trucks OK. Run what ya' brung!

2007 TURKEY TROT RALLY
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

GLOSSARY:

R right
L left
BEAR a turn of obviously less than 90 degrees
ACUTE a turn of obviously more than 90 degrees
STOP a conventional STOP sign
FLASHER an overhead traffic signal with a single flashing lamp on
any side.
TL a traffic light with red, yellow and green lamps on
any side
T an intersection where you can only go left or right –
not straight.
SAP "straight as possible" – the direction you will go
at any intersection where
the next rally instruction does not apply.
ONTO indicates you are to STAY ON THIS ROAD until the
next instruction takes you
off of it – regardless of where this road goes or how many turns you
have to take
to stay on it.
@ A reference to a location. R @ means "take a right
at" The term @ is to be
considered loosely. Just before or just after can still be @.

TERMINOLOGY AND RULES:

1) Anything contained in parenthesis (like this) is helpful
information only. It does NOT have to be spelled correctly, match
in capitalization to any sign or formal name or anything else. It's
the rally masters giving you some helpful info.

2) Anything CAPITALIZED refers to an object. For instance R
onto SOUTH MAIN means you are turning right onto a street named
SOUTH MAIN (street or road or avenue or parkway or whatever). Any
associated sign could say "S Main" or "SO Main" or "South Main" or
whatever…..

3) Anything in quotes "like this" refers to something you will
see on a sign. It WILL match spelling exactly but does not to be in
the same upper / lower case as the sign. It MAY be a partial quote.

4) Roads marked DEAD END or NO OUTLET (or any variation
thereof) DO NOT EXIST.

5) Dirt roads DO NOT EXIST (unless specifically noted in the
instructions)

6) The longest distance between instructions on this rally is
2.0 miles. After 2.5 – you are lost.

7) Any mileages provided (0.7) represent the distance from the
PREVIOUS INSTRUCTION (NOT the previous mileage given). These are to
provide help in what we consider to be tricky situations (note they
are in parenthesis!)

B - I need to bow out - my apologies. I have a release going in and need to be readily available in case something gets blowed up. Probably not but you never know.
