If you know how to drive and are informed of your rights, you'll never get a ticket in the US.

I rarely get tickets anymore... which is really good considering how many miles I drive every year. But I don't argue with the cops or plead my rights- if they catch me, I'll be nice and take the ticket. You get one freebie a year in Texas anyway.

Nice, you have a speed3 now? Those are awesome cars too.

Your 215/35-18 is slightly shorter than my 205/50-16, so you'll be closer to the actual mileage- but still showing about 4% more true numbers.

There's some speculation that the odometer is screwy because the bB was originally set up with 185/65-15 tires in Japan, but it still doesn't make any sense since all the gauges were remade for the US version.

Sure, although everything I've done in this thread is 4th grade multiplication. Plus it depends on how complex.

Nice 3!

Honestly, I think most of the Scion boards don't really care about something like this, even though it's REALLY low on the tech scale. I posted it up and a few verified it, the rest said "that math makes my head hurt I don't care." Considering how many are running 195/45-15 on 15x8 wheels to have that "hella tite stretch" I don't think odometer accuracy is much of an issue.

sounds about right.. still an interesting flaw that i thought they would have found and corrected in the many years of the 1st gen's

Nah, never argue with a cop, that's like arguing with someone who works in a Best Buy, they're just doing their job. When they do try to pull something on you, being informed sure helps to regain control of the situation.

Oh, it also helps to be driving a car that looks like it can't go very fast. :P

That never works for me- I always get warnings in the fast looking cars, tickets in the slow looking cars.

It's obviously been calibrated for metric miles.

Again... maybe- but you'd think it would be adjusted for the US market, plus the speedo would be WAY off too, and it's not.

I was kidding. I don't think there is such a thing as metric miles. I'm willing to bet that the actual module that converts the sensor inputs into numbers on the diplay is used in multiple scion models and isn't properly calibrated due to the "economy" of the vehicle.
