friend of mine has a neon 4 door auto and the keys been messing up, sometimes it wont turn the switch and sometimes it will, lately its been getting worse, you have to jiggle/fool with it for awhile to get it to turn, and he has 3 keys and they all do it so i dont think its a worn key, so my question is the only option to replace the switch or could it be something else? (switch is 150 bucks)

sounds to me like worn tumblers inside the switch. hit up a junkyard and find one that has a key in it gotta be cheaper than the stealership

I think the problem is not the ignition switch but the "cylinder lock" for the key. Just my 02 cents.
