I got a $15,000 turbo SOHC Neon motor from a 1st gen. All internals are new from intake to oil pan & the same goes for the trans. It even has an LSD in it and its an automatic. Basically this car was a sleeper. Not sure of the boost but estimated HP is from 400-450. The car got wrecked and we pulled the motor and trans but not the CPU.
What would I need to have done to the CPU? My dad was thinking about grafting the whole front suspension or clip from a neon and put this motor in my civic and put the civic panels back on but that is too much work. But it would mess with alot of peoples heads if I dont pop the hood. My dad gets a lil carried away sometimes. LOL ![]() Unless I cant find a clean 4 door automatic Neon then I will find another civic hatch and try to do the swap. __________________

and to the op...i have seen some mean neons before. i cant help much on the swap info, but that motor should be put back into a 1st gen neon. i would think thats you best bet to get max potential from the engine. good luck, and good score. __________________

you must be kidding me. my friend has a seriously built first gen Neon (Nitrous, not turbo) and he can't get a fair price for it.
He would have sold his to you for $15k. Damn. __________________

I'm under the impression he got the motor second hand and the value of the build is 15k. Possibly got it free?

My friend is experiencing the heartbreak of trying to sell a really built car that people laugh at. 16k invested in the motor, and no one cares.
Cars aren't investments though, I guess. It's a 98 Neon RT. __________________

The main problem is that it is a neon... Neon's aren't exactly a highly sought after car.. Unless it is an SRT-4 then you can overlook the whole neon thing ha! My friend has an SRT-4 pushin 18lbs with various other upgrades..bigger wastegate..better b.o.v. and such.. one of the quickest cars I have ever rode in!

All neons are gay. SRT-4s are okay, I have yet to see one on the road that wasn't driving like a total douche bag though.

i looked at an SRT-4 Neon at the same car lot i bought my Mazda 3 at. the salesman tried to get me to buy the Neon but it looked it had been beat on...especially since it was the SRT-4. it was a nice car other than all that i mentioned.

2 kids I work with have upgraded SRT4s. The blue one smokes bikes on the highway and the black one just got a much bigger turbo. Both driven by non-asshats.

SRT-4 drivers get mad when you call them turbo'ed neons. Its funny. Either way despite how fast they may be or get, they are still domestic. Anyone can smack a turbo on car and give it XXX amount of HP, lets see them get over 100HP per litre out of a 1.6 N/A engine. I'm sorry i just love my B16 and am proud of it. I wish i had the money to fully build it to beat all those SRT's.

Ya, ain't our motors fun! I thought it was a sin to take the SiR-II out of a hatchback and put it in a civic coupe to begin with, and you've gone and put it in an integra. lol. Still I bet it's fun. Soo much fun revin' it out...heh __________________

Ya, the only regret i have with a B16 in it is that the integra is a tad heavier than the civic and hatches. Well stock weight is 2,500 somethin which is almost the same as a civic coupe. Then again i have no power windows, powersteering, A/C, spare tire, panels and what have you. So i may be ok, but the 1.6 has a little trouble with the initial go but it pulls.

Still. I still remember that "Cavalier Guy" as i call him, laughed at me cause i had a "1.3" and he had a Z24. Till i beat him easily from a half-assed green light. They he persisted to do it again from a roll, going well before me.... i pulled and passed easy. We stopped and he said "Jesus dude i had a head start and you still beat me, cant beat those high revvers." I see him around and he still farts around with me.

Lol I always had to deal with this kid in a neon by the name of goobie. I wrote a kill story on him lol. He thought his stock swapped 5 speed neon was faster than my stock b16 for some reason...
