I started tearing in to it today. Pulled the dash apart and started pulling the front end apart and removing the intercooler from the old bent up bumper and and cutting in the intercooler to the new bumper.
Im trying to figure out where to put the boost gauge. The old car had it in the A pillar but I dont like it there. I will have better pics tomorrow. These are just crappy cell phone pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A few random shots of turbo & parts. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() __________________

Well I did a lil more work yesterday. Got the motor and trans separated & got the motor on a stand and drain the oil out of the motor to pull the pan off so I can see whats actually inside of this thing just to get a better understanding of it. I have also found out that the motor and trans has about 4000-5000 miles on it since its complete rebuild.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well it has JE pistons and Eagle H-Beam rods. I will be pulling the valve cover tomorrow to find out what cam it has. I have been told it has a Crower cam in it. ![]() ![]() I will be pulling the valve cover tomorrow to find out what cam it has. I have been told it has a Crower cam in it. __________________

I thought thats what you meant but I wasnt 100% sure. I wanna keep it for now at least. Im just doing this on a budget right now. Then as time goes on I may do it. But I would hate to lose the LSD in it.

Well I got it all cleaned up and degreased. Looks 10x better. I got the dash pulled out as well to remove the climate control. Got the passenger airbag out and the cover glued to the dash pad. Now I gotta figure out how to do the same to the wheel airbag. I also started to remove some stuff under the hood to prep the removal of the old motor and trans. Found out that the cradle underneath has to come out and the motor and trans comes with it. How easy is that? Just bolt it all on the cradle and install. I like it!!! On to the pics.
![]() ![]() Hard to see ![]() Hey Mike??? What is this all about? These to hoses that are blocked off? Its not on the 98 Motor. ![]() __________________

what you have there is a 95 style block which ran the pcv sytem through the block, crappiest design ever. it was only used for one year and in 96 they cahnged it over to the pcv sytem run through the valve cover. so what you have is a 95 block with a newer style head and valve cover with the pcv sytem in it. the just blocked it off cause they used the valve cover pcv system cause its better. funny side note is i have the same setup a 95 block with two k&n filters on the ports and the pcv run through the valve cover.

Well I finally got the motor and trans out. While it was out I degreased and pressure washed the engine bay. Looks 100% better. Tomorrow I will be degreasing the trans so I can swap cases.

lol at the EJ-t hehee... hey man do you have the fuel rail cover? if so, can i borrow it and make a carbon one for you as payment? if not do you want a cf one?
i have been trying to find one so i can make a mold of it, but they're so rare it's fuckin nuts. the shit is driving ma crazy looking for it, so i'm just about to make a one-off in about an hour or so from now.. I'm also in the process of making a mold for the 2nd gen fuse box too, just trying to find a way to make the clips too.. I might also start on a radiator shroud project as well. __________________

so how bout the dash? what materials r u using?
and i have a tech question.. but i think it would be better to post in here since theres only like maybe 10 people on hs that have neons. FYI this is an auto neon 2.0 When I stop and the car is in "D" it starts shaking alot... but if I put it in Neutral, the shaking pretty much goes away completely. I'm thinking it cold just be my motor mount bushing giving out, because them shits look rough. But could anything else cause that on Neons? __________________

Well I finally got the neon running. After 3 days of pulling my hair out, I finally got it lit off.
I was having communication issues with the PCM and no ASD relay trigger. Turned out it was a single ground wire under the hood that was not connected. No I need to make a down pipe and this thing will be on the road and hopefully the track by wendsday. __________________
