The Kicker of Elves.

Yes, I'm honestly stuck between the two. Both are around $4-5k in my area and I'm not really looking to spend more. I'm mostly looking to buy a nice car for my lady, that I can have fun with at the same time. Either car will most likely be a foor door.
On one hand, I like the performance and styling of the 325 but I've been wanting to build a B18C for a while and I don't exactly hate the way 'Tegs look. I'll need to buy new tools for the 325 and I'm not exactly sure how much work I can do myself but I know I can work on the 'Teg and already have pretty much every tool I'll ever need for a Honda. I'll be 30 on the 6th so insurance isn't a concern...as such, I've even thought about a 944 turbo but decent ones are out of my price range at the moment. The practical side of me is leaning towards the GSR but the other side of me really wants a 325is. Quick specs. GSR = 170hp and 128tq., ConsumerGuide value in class rating of 8. 325 = 189hp and 170tq., ConsumerGuide value in class rating of 6. Open to all (reasonable) thoughts, opinions, and suggestions.

well me i would go with the gsr because hondas are so reliable, and there not that much to fix if something goes weong and it will also have alot better gas milliage.yea the bmw looks good but the gsr will last longer and is alot easer to maintane

rwd > fwd
heated leather > gay cloth adult owned > rice boy owned 325 gas mileage isn't bad... its mid/upper 20s and doesn't require premium like the gsr does. be careful with the 95's... a lot of the on board computers are fubar. test everything out (like the heat, a/c, and so on) when you drive it. the amount of new tools you need really isn't anything crazy. couple hundred bucks, tops, most of which can be bought per-job basis. sing up on bimmerforums.com ![]() |

The BMW will give you a nicer powerband without having to rev the piss out of the engine to get power.

Cool forum. Research shall be done!
Tool per job is basically how I got all of my current tools, so no biggie there. Maintenance costs are my biggest concern. I already know a good mechanic who works on European cars for a decent rate, but I've become very DIY. Research. ![]()

well if ya end up buyin the bmw check the heater controls to make sure that the screen works. this is a very common item to go on these cars, but alas there is a fix for it so you don't have to go and spend the 600 bucks to get the new one.

I went to the bimmerforum.com link that B posted and there's an FAQ for what to look for with these cars. Most insightful.

I just found a pretty nice looking car. I called the guy but there was no answer so I fired an eMail off to him. Hopefully he still has it and is willing to negotiate the price a little.

BMW owners completely suck at selling their cars. If you don't provide a phone number, you should probably check your eMail more than once every two or three days. I'm starting to get frustrated.
