| Plans: Swap in the 302 I have in the garage (1974 with 20k miles on it). Later upgrade carb, cam, heads. Install Hooker header set on it (I have two complete sets of these, ceramic coated) Renew interior. New pile carpet ($100), some floor touch up (There are no holes, but I'm going to address the paint seals). High-back seats, ala Porsche 911 or second gen F-body. Ripping out gauges and panel, start from scratch custom (Lenovo tablet, Autometer gauges, no radio. CB and stainless finish) I'm going to install the Mugen steering wheel. Don't hate. Then onto some odds-n-ends on the electrical, HID lights (Already have) power windows (Already have) LED taillights, stripped bumpers. Complete track-worthy MII front end, $1200 in show chrome. KYB struts (Purchased) Fender flares to accomodate larger wheels (Looking at 18", deep dish offsets) The front end converts the lug pattern to 5 lug. The rear conversion will as well. Oh, and paint. Me and my bodyshop have agreed on gloss black with two matte black racing stripes, Cobra pattern.

| I fuckin hate those things, but if it turns out anything like your inspiration you might make a believer outa me. Since your swappin heads eventually, have you ever thought of buildin a Clevor motor? They seem to make good power with 2 barrel heads, which are a dime a dozen. |

I understand that the V6 under the hood now does run, but I don't really care because I don't feel like investing even a dime in an 80 hp V6. So I'm going to just get the 302 completed and use it for awhile, while I build enough knowledge to know what I actually (really) want.

| A K-code would be awesome, but theres nothin wrong with ditchin that 6 for the 302 lol. Thats cool that it came with a parts car. In the pics it doesnt look like it needs very much though. |

| Yeah, I had 3 blow-outs in a week last year. Had to get whatever tires I could find / afford at the time. The rear tires fill the fender to the point that one's hand can't fit in the gap. I can't carry passengers. In fact, I rub with a full tank of gas. Don't care. ![]() The driver's door is a bit crunched up, so I have a replacement for that too. The thing that bothers me is that the parts car is pale yellow too. Who the hell paints a Cobra flesh / pale yellow ? I've got 6 complete dashboards in the pile too. I'm going to butcher one up for the gauges and keep another as a spare. I'm also butchering one of the center consoles to be a roof center console. I also have 4 complete taillights / rear fascias. I wonder if I should play around there too.

| The Snake hood one is the King Cobra, 77 and 78. Some in 79 too, as I recall. This is the two stripe one. I've been working on this thing every minute that I'm not working my job (Which hasn't been enough at all) No wait, I meant to say I do work too much. Work from 7 am till 10pm everynight this week. But I'm getting more and more done. Just picked up an edelbrock performer manifold (Free), got the H9 headlights out of the inventory, and can get away with just the 4" dropped spindles in my next pay cycle. I have to track down an AC bracket for the 302 now. That'll be fun. Oh, and I am on the prowl for a Edelbrock 650 carb. Wrenching like this has got me really tired again - it's a good feeling to be back at the tools.

| I'm going to go check this bracket when I get a chance. Right now I'm wrestling with a wireless repeater config from these GODDAM Cisco 4410s. I hate these pieces of shit. Anyway, That bracket looks about right, and my compressor is on the driver's side. It's mounted sideways. But the interior will be the basics: Blue gauges, electronica, Vacuum Flourescent displays (Where possible). I have a 4Runner console, which has two compartments (Sneaky smuggler style), and I'm going to see if I can get that to mate to one of the center consoles I have. The big challenge is that I do NOT want an FM radio. All I listen to is stuff on my phone - 8 minute delay scanners (Which I wouldn't mind speeding up), iheartradio, Pandora, and some MP3s that I carry around. My android phone also has a neat telemetry app on it (Ulysee Gizmos (Spelled like that)) that I would like to see on a larger screen. I am trying to find some of data / telemetry system that won't be outdated in 12 months. Some sort of permanent install is desired. I think the Lenovo 3.1 Android tablet will give me what I'm looking for, but I still need more open sourcing than it provides. The current setup I have on my HTC EVO replicates helicopter telemetry. I don't know. I have to continue having dreams, watching more TV (Where I get ideas) and have some sort of true epiphany. Gauges are another problem. I MUST have bright blue, and I MUST have full-sweeps. Since I'm fabbing a dash from scratch (Just got done with an F-body dash fab) I'll be able to place just about anything I need anywhere I want. I'm eyeing up Cobalts for now (True test is to see how the senders work with my stuff) I mean, my ultimate gauge is liquid filled, blue back-lit, mechanical and step-motored. But I'm not going to get that, regardless of costs. For audio, I am still looking for a "head unit" (like.. a pre-amp "head" unit.. not a tuner and shit. Just a simple volume knob and parametric EQ knobs) that will match the new Cobra CB. Pics: The kind of head unit I'm looking for: ![]() The new Cobra 25 with color changing LED: ![]() An old Whistler cruis-aider or 3450 mounted in the upper console: ![]() The classic Mustang mounts will be used for the foglights. Using Lightforce 6" reflectors with the filters and focus ring. ![]() The upper console needs some sort of awesomeness applied as well. Oh, and my old Subaru RX4 Turbo had an overhead shelf. I loved that thing. I want to do it again.

| And my headliner is "ok", but has a few small holes in it. I would like to do away with the ridiculous drop-head liner and just glue some vinyl / noise dampening up there. I have some good vinyl in my shop that I've been dying to use. The seats are my next question. I will have to find 911 seats because of their dimensions. But they are too goddam costly. I have often thought about building my own seats. I have no time though. So I'll stay with the Mustang seats (black vinyl, adjustable headrest) |
