change the lower radiator hose on a 1st half 4th gen mustang gt. It just isn't worth it. 4 and a half hour of work, bloody hands and just a complete and total pain in the ass.

Don't worry. I NEVER plan on owning a Mustang that isn't between 65-71 anyway. So I probably never will have to.

The focus doesn't count as being a ford vehicle. It's a fluke. I've got like 5 friends with a focus. None have had any major maintenance outside of oil changes and other preventative work.

I've had 2 rangers, and an explorer I hated the rangers, and had some good times in the explorer, but they all had one thing in common, the clutch and or tranny exploded when I got rid of them.

the majority of the automotive industry can be traced back to hitler. all the biggest car companies were major contributors in the war , other than the russians, but they shot themselves in the foot on that one.

war=industry.

Reliability trends, reliability findings

Quote:
Ford's three brands-Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury-continue to pull away from the rest of the Detroit automakers. Almost all Ford models are now average or better, with the exception of some that are truck-based. Excluding those, Ford's reliability is now on par with good Japanese automakers.

General Motors is a mixed bag. Among the bright spots is the redesigned Chevrolet Malibu; in its first year, the four-cylinder version is better than average and the V6 is average. The Buick Lucerne with a V8 and the Pontiac G6 with a four-cylinder are above average, and the Chevrolet Avalanche has improved to average.

But a quarter of GM models are still well below average in reliability. Some that didn't fare well are fairly new designs that did well in our testing, such as the Cadillac CTS and the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook SUV triplets. Chrysler trails the pack. Almost two-thirds of its products rate below average for reliability. The redesigned 2008 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans earned low scores, as did the Chrysler Sebring V6 and Dodge Avenger sedans and the Jeep Liberty SUV. The Sebring Convertible has the worst score: 283 percent worse than average. The only above-average models are the Dodge Caliber hatchback and Jeep Patriot SUV.
Sorry, insomnia kicked in lol...

In pretty sure anything pre-80s is easier to work on than anything post 96'. Not just the Hondas. Shit you can easily reach all the spark plugs on a 68' El Camino with a 468 big block, yet I couldn't easily reach half of them on my 91 Camaro when it had its 305 small block. Change them on a fourth gen and you have to blindly do it with special tools.

I remember my dad had a chevy
C10, and I loved that thing. It was the shit. It was rusted to hell, and beat up, and so cool. It had a 454 in it, and when he was working on it in the summer, and my mom was at work on the weekends, we would get lunch and sit on the inner fenders and eat.
