about a mile after i left work, i noticed the 'service engine soon' light on.
I putted the 55 miles home with no issues. car seems to be 100%.

I got gas this morning on my way in, so the first thing i checked when i got home was the gas cap. it was on tight. 'rebooted' the car, and it's still on.

looks like it's a trip to the dealer.... and i'll be missing autoX this weekend. fuck

probably just needs an oil change or has low air pressure in one of the tires.

neonmike is brining home his scan tool from work tomorrow, so i'll try to scan it and see what it says.

oil/service lights are on a different cirucit/bulb.
wheel out of balance / abs are also on a different circuit

sounds like it's that time of the month, shove a tampon in it and call it a day.maybe a midol in the tank.

On a serious note, are you still under warentee? I remember before about the oil change, you were still covered if memeory serves me correctly.

The sensor in the driver's seat probably detected that your wallet was getting too fat. Don't worry though, your car will remedy that shortly.

Depending on your car manufacturer, the SES light can come on for some "stupid" reasons and some important ones. When oil pressure is low, when coolant in resevoir is low etc. If you have a TPMS, and you remove a wheel or over/under inflate your tire/s, a TPMS warning light comes on inside the car, not the SES light. Since thats not your prolem, just check the fluids throughout and change the oil/filter.

Spark issues do not trigger SES lights. Most cars won't have a warning light for that due to the high amount of voltage in the ignition system. That is why it is easy to diagnose ignition related problems, if your plug wires are arc'ing, you do not get a code or warning light, it just falls on its face.
