I'll probably spray the entire underbody one of these months. Looks real good for when exhaust guys lift it up and get under there

yea the black is a good touch we did that on a 87toyota back in the day..and ended up with rust and little holes every where...

Well, See I've tried to just twist it, like I do on ALL my other manifolds (and cars I wiretuck), with some pliers, but it just don't work. It starts to twist the fitting itself and bend the metal, so I don't feel like ripping a hole in it and having a vacuum leak to deal with... so it'll stay for now. ;)

Are those just compression-fit fittings btw? how do you get them out/in? heat the mani/chill the fitting kinda like valve guides?
Yeah, they're just pressed in. I was gonna suggest heating up the area of the mani surrounding it with a torch, but that would definitely fuck up your paint. I'm pretty sure you could get it out by smashing/mangling it into submission, but there's always the risk that it will break off and leave a piece behind.

If thats the case I can just drill and thread in a hose barb like I have on my B16. Just a 90" brass barb. I guess somewhere around 1/8-1/4npt or somethin. I got my Y8 manifold Friday, but haven't messed with it yet.

What fitting size is the braided fuel hose? -4an? I reallylike thatand want to do it on my hatch. BTW, shes looking good.

Update!

If you go yellow you gotta make it look like a piece of cheese, thats how my LS valvecover was painted and it looked really cool.

Valve Cover Color Choice!
I call it, "rustic yellow"
It's a light coat of yellow with a touch of red to resemble rust, then a clearcoat. (happened to be high gloss... ehh...)

wow.

Ehhh not really feeling the engine bay color. Just looks weird with the white. You did a good job painting it though. You know, sometimes i really think you like spending money tinkering with that car more than you enjoy driving it. i thought you were getting out of it?

Dont take this the wrong way but you do realize that you have spent about double what i payed for my lsvtec on the ''tinkering'' to get both of you motors to run right. And yet you still cant break into the 13's.

I got to give it to you though. You have made alot of us realize that we can do alot of little custom here and there by ourselves. With all that tinkering you have done i'm pretty sure you know every trick there is to know on tearing down a crx.

good luck homie. Keep doing what you love.

Well, I actually don't spend too much money when I don't have to... But I think your right actually. I like working on the car just as much as driving it! It's not all about the drag times to me, man. Or the money. I'm just having fun making the car look/be like I want it to! Thats what it's all about to me. Yeah I messed up when I built a D16 (lol), but it's all just live and learn. I guarantee you that the next car I mod or whatever will have a much more EXPERIENCED, thought out set of upgrades. I've learned a LOT from working on all of these different engines. Not to mention what Aviation mechanics has done to me (oh my what a difference in my mechanic'ing practices!).

Most of my tinkering has been with the cosmetics. Wire tucking, making the harness, keeping everything as clean as possible, etc. Thats whats eating up all the time. But hey! Thats why I have the car! To do cool stuff like this! I've got all the time in the world (whats left of it) to work on my car. I don't feel ANY pressure to get this done. OR to get into a certain time-class, and that is way more satisfying to me than to be overly-concerned about hitting 13's, 12's, 9's whatever. :)

[/speech] :p
It's good to hear from you, dude! Looking forward to catching up with ya

Dude, I like the VC color! I would have liked ot see a pretty crinkle red in that bay.. Man it would have stuck out good.. But the yellow looks nice.
