I took some time out and looked through your thread and man I wish I had the time to work like you! Great work!

Sorry about not reading it, I'll keep an eye out though. I've even seen some really old 40-50's cars come through around here with alot of the rare knobs/handles and dash parts still in them!
As you can tell, I have soft spot for the older stuff.

Heck yes man! I'm definitely happy about my truck. I've got a full thread over on oldihc.org you can follow, in the Projects section. It was a lot more detailed but they changed servers and lost all the old info, and I was lazy and didn't post EVERY picture back up.

Anyway, I do appreciate the imput! I like seeing other guys here on Import forums into older stuff too... I'm trying to be more well-rounded in the car world. :p

I'll be sure to post up pics of that Tracker progress, too. I'm gonna put that old Mercedes 300D turbo onto it (Borg Warner "KKK" .40mm comp .42mm turbine! Tiny... lol.). The hardest part/most fun will be making the manifold for it. Gonna be my first custom manifold!!!

you willing to trade or trade with cash for the aftermarket or even factory rims? I want something different like the civic rims or the ones you have aftermarket

As you can tell, after my truck is done/sold, I'm gonna get a dune buggy to cruise around with :D

....when was the last time you did anything on your rex?

lol i don't feal like looking though 100 pages again. even though iv read just about every
page here. i always end up reading through the whole thing once i start looking.

It was down in Perry a couple weeks ago (Mac 24 Seven commandeered it while I was on vacation). Thats pretty much it, lately. It's too chilly to cruise in it regularly (no climate control).

However, it needs cam seals pretty bad. I think I'll change those out soon. Gotta check with Terrance and see if he wants to do something to the head while it's apart (ITR cams, Terrance? :D). Otherwise it'll just be a boring cam seal change, ya know? lame... :)

I pulled my D16 out from storage (on a stand in my shop all wrapped up.) and borrowed a ring compressor from Terrance's dad (the one with the 9.9 sec back-yard-built Ranger... for reference) and so now I'm deciding what to do with the bottom end before it gets put together again. Should I change pistons? Written down somewhere I have my research on piston/compression ratios for my motor setup. I think the D17A2 (i think thats right... too lazy to check again) pistons would yield a nice ~9.8:1 ratio. Which is considerably lower than my current ~11:1 setup. So I think I want to do that - lower my compression.

Anyway... It's slow now, I've got a lot of other cars I'm working on in my shop for money, so it's taking away my 'alone time' with the rex. I'll try to get somethin done soon!

Hmmn... Headwork on teh GSR. That would be nice.

How abotu this... You pull it apart, freshen it up (new rings/bearings) and spiffy the head up... And you can boost it

No more than 10 lbs though.

But OMG, 10 lbs in t3h Rex? Absolutely disgusting...... I'd love it :)

You hear that, guys?!?!?!

It's taken 4 months, but I've finally seemed to widdle him down enough to agree to me turboing this motor!?!?!?!?!??
Mark this day. :)

Ok, I'll stay on topic.

Which is... ? gonna rebuild/boost the GSR!

I wasn't going to, before, for obvious reasons (Terrance didn't want to.) But now he's game. Actually, I think he's pretty excited about it :)

I plan to just do a simple rebuild:

-new rings (unsure) / bearings (ACL)
-check oil pump gear clearance. never know, it might need to be replaced. possibly do a 'port' job
-new OEM head gasket (or Cometic, depends on price. both are good. :))
-new ARP headstuds
-new OEM cam seals

Then use a lot of what I've got in my shop towards the turbo kit.
The *asterisks are parts I already own.
-*cast mani
-*Volvo 15g (tdo5)
-*SRT FMIC (if my custom aluminum pretzel bend will work with this setup) Otherwise, I might modify IT or the intercooler.
-*DSM BOV
-FMU
-NGK BKR7ES-11 plugs (1 range cooler than stock)
-*oil lines

Should be fun!! It's gonna be a challenge financially, though, because I'm working uber part time right now (AKA shade-tree'ing out of my shop). so I'm trying to sell my FA5 Civic (13K if anyone is interested ;)) cause I don't really need it. I think I'll be getting a truck next, something cheaper that I can pay off quickly.

What do you have, Abel??

RSX type S now. no major mods really. just the simple bolt ons. really doesnt matter since my audio system weighs it down a bunch.:D

I also now work for Proctor Subaru too. We got a sweet deal on a silverado and tacoma on the lot if you want to either trade the car in or wait till you sell it on the street.

i wanted to see if you would sell the rims off the car if you still had them. I need some aftermarket wheels to make my rsx stand out a little more.

can i ask why youre going with acl bearings (its an honest question, not trying to be a dick here) instead of OEM?
