CRVtech

I found a 99 Honda DX HB for $6K a few miles from my house... Its motor has a lot of mileage on it ad the motor is in ok shape... so i wanna go all motor because it will be daily driven... i was looking at CRVtech and LS Vtec and come to find out that CRVtec is more reliable... Now what i need to know is what kinda swap to put in? What block to put in (isn't the a B20b and a B20Z)??? I want to fully build it all at once... what internals should i use? THANX for all the help....

The ls/vtec and the cr/vtec would be equally reliable, you would see mild hp and tq gains with the cr/vtec, due to its larger displacement. I would recommend je pistons, and crower rods, they are excellent products and they are reasonably priced.

now... what cams, cam shafts should i use.... and which head? B16a Sir 1 or Sir 2

Since your car is already OBDII, you should go with the B20Z and the SirII head. That's what people have been telling me. Hope that's some help.

MaaseyRacer, I read that forum... I did a search b4 I posted the thread, but it was mostly about ls/vtec and I would rather go CRVtec... Am I doing the right thing but going CRVtec. What are the pros and cons?

LS and CRV bottoms are the same EXCEPT for the 84mm sleeves on the CRV which gives it 2 liters of displacement as opposed to the 81mm bore of the LS which nets it 1834cc's "including the extra stroke as opposed to the GSR crank" so it's 1.834 liters, GSR 1.797cc's~.


make sure you get a good tranny setup with your motor, and it's vtec mang.

Interesting... I didn't know his site was back up. His torque number looks just like mine, and he's got all sorts of goodies in the head that I don't.

hoe long to B20Vtec motors last... i read on www.b20vtec.com that the guys first motor lasted 1500 miles...
