2002 E46 M3 in need of new pads and rotors. Now for OEM pads and OEM rotors, with fluid thats going to cost around $700 bucks

For the price I can get ModBargains Stoptech Stage 2 Brake Upgrade - PBR/Axxis Deluxe Plus Pads E46 3 Series for cheaper

this comes with PBR/Axxis Deluxe Plus, and StopTech SS Lines and StopTech Slotted Rotors and fluid.
I am unsure about Slotted Rotors though, will running Slotted Rotors affect my breaking performace?

Slotted is fine... it's better than x-drilled. but, like x-drilled, they can't be turned/resurfaced.

Slotted rotors are fine. Stoptech hardware is good stuff too. And yes, you CAN turn slotted rotors- just takes the right bit and someone who knows how to do it. You shouldn't need to cut your rotors unless you really mess something up though. What most people believe are warped rotors really just ends up as unevenly deposited brake pad material- quite a few times from making a hard stop and keeping your foot on the brakes while the pads are still hot.

Thanks I think will have to pick this kit up then, a lot of guys on E46 fourm run them, but I just dont want to get a bias opinions. Thanks for the reply

Well, I've run a few aftermarket brake setups before, and recently after a ton of research I chose Stoptech for my S2000. Now, I DID buy the entire kit- calipers, brackets, rotors/pads- but do know that they do pretty extensive testing on their equipment, and lots of track junkies use Stoptech brake hardware.

Also, Stoptech = Powerslot = Centric (Centric = parent company), so if you're looking at different pricing within those brands, it's all the same stuff.

good to know, I will still shop around.

Stop tech has been around for many years. On par with brembo in most cases IMO.
