the Genesis is better than the M3?? :\

A korean car will never be better than the M. I've drove the Genny many times. Totally would take the M. B I will never forgive you :p

I was about to make comment in Wil's thread, where he "corrected" dickskate's posts about how great he is with his struck-match imports.

Drive an aircooled 911. not a turbo or anything, but just a nice 911. You'll find that they really aren't that all too fast. They corner well in the chassis department, but the steering is mushy and delayed. (Yes, Yes it is.)

And ultimately, you'll find that today's Hyundais are faster, flatter-cornering and much more responsive.

But clearly, the 911 is a simply a more desirable car. B made the same mistake most men make when they approach (or pass, whatever) 30 years old. They start to figure things out on paper. And that's when their coolness goes flying out the window.

they suddenly start thinking "Does this make sense?" instead "Fuck. Want."

soon they will approach the mid life crisis, and everything will return to normal.

Now who wants to take a ride with me to Ithaca to pick up my new Subaru Brat ?

Car for Car, the M wins hand down.

Factor in TCO and other $ factors, and it's DAMN close.

It's enough to make me happy.

And frankly, i think that while the m was quicker 0-60, the genesis would destroy it 60-140.

Yeah and she said to email us pics she wants to see what she's missing out on.

While the M3 is nice. It is really dated now.

Who would want to drive an air-cooled NA 911?

Me. That's an awesome car. The m3 of Bs era lost its luster. They can be had in the teens now meaning all sorts of people are sporting them and running them into the ground.

to the best of my knoweldge (aka, they didn't know what i drove) the M didn't get me laid once in the almost 3 years i owned it. lol so i disagree with that statement entirely.

I got 19,5 on my trade in 3 years ago, so yes, they can be had pretty cheap now. It is dated. And with higher mileage, the service costs really add up. oil changes were $180. and good luck finding 0w-60 at autozone, or a filter, or the tool to reset the computer if you plan to do it yourself.... And if you do, you lose all chance of getting it CPO'ed later, which means lower resale/trade in.
inspection II is about $3500 and is due every other 15k. inspection I is due every other 10k and is about $1800.
If you don't do it, you end up losing valves because they are so finicky and tight to spec.

If there's one thing i miss about the car.... it's the hum it made on the highway against the Jersey barriers. This warm sweet hum that almost made you feel like you were driving an exotic. Like an Italian.

And the 2nd thing i miss are the seats. loved that drivers seat.

Sometimes i miss it... but most of the time, I don't miss paying for it.

I should have genny paid off in a year and a half or so (just made payment 39!) and then its free game to start looking into something else. but i'll probably just keep it unless it starts falling apart.
I have other things i want to spend my money on these days besides cars.

Still, M's get pussy. NUFF SAID.
yea, maybe when you're cruising the high school parking lot or your local college town
any bitch thats worth her weight doesn't fall for those tricks, and even if they did, you don't want to turn a hoe into a house wife
if i just wanted a quick nut i'll rub one out and skip the trip to the clinic
and 9 out of 10 times if you tell a woman you drive an "M" they just look at you like you're a retard, "a mitsubishi? mazda? i don't get it"

bahahahha, spot on with your approach on this one, interesting view on the mid life crisis thing also, never really considered that
thought provoking
"does this make sense"

my statement would be reversed if B had an older, better M but the newer ones are so fluff compared to the past. i would also take the 911 :)

lots more folks look at my veloster like, "oh, thats a fucking sweet car" than any other car i've had. i dont get revved on by ricers like i did in the mitsus. at the local petco meet, the VT and i had a large crowd, comparable to the 3 GTRs that were there.

B, I don't think it makes sens to CPO that generation of M3, they are that old.. lol

I went opposite and threw out any practicality aside form comfort and having 4 doors and got a fuel/tire thirsty 6.2L AMG. My wife calls it my midlife crisis car. I'm not so sure. I think a P car is a more suitable midlife crisis car. :)

I would still take that M over the Gen any day though.

As would I.... if I had that kind of cash that I used to. But since I don't, I've scaled back my life a bit, and went for the best bang for the buck car out there. nothing touches it at 27k out the door with a 100k warranty.
cut my payment literally in half.
it's no M. but is it half the car? i don't think so. Not even close.

As I recall, it sounded like a Civic.
