I just bought a 98 civic ex that someone did a b16a2 swap already done I knew it had wiring issues but its worse than I thought the car ran decent when I got it but seemed like the plugs were fouled out so I pulled them and replaced them now it won't fire I'm not getting any spark at all I have constant power at the when I'm not cranking however no fire getting fuel no spark so my question what else would it be that is causing no spark I have no idea whether its obd1 or 2 haven't looked but the motor came out of a 99 si (ran the numbers) please help any thoughts are greatly appreciated

First off make sure your spark plug cables are inserted all the way in to the spark plugs. It's possible that you may have a bad ignitor or ignition coil. Check all your grounds and distributor wiring to make sure you don't have any bad connections first before you go on and purchase parts that you may not even need. Hope this helps, good luck.

sounds dumb but i had trouble with the dizzy side of the spark plug wires not being pushed in correctly before. worth a shot

hopefully its not the ignition control module, for a new one of these you could get a used dizzy.
