I got an idea, that I think might be fun.

I'm gonna do this too - but I have to find my camera and get a new mount.

I found two videos on youtube that are interesting. This guy did some production value, which is pretty damned cool (There are things about my commute that I never knew). In this video you'll see the home areas of Hondaswap itself : Connecticut.

The first video starts out at the exit near my work. Then it goes up rt8 to Waterbury (Continuing north takes you into Bristol / B-ville. There be dragons) then it veers off to the right onto 84 (You'll see the "Waterbury Mix-Master, where I rode shotgun while Airjockie drifted the Cherokee at 80mph). The second video lacks about 5 minutes of real-time driving, then it's off to Massachusetts. Both of these videos cover the entire trip from the southern beaches of CT just about the MA line (Turbomirage land)

Connecticut 8 North: Bridgeport to Waterbury - YouTube
I-84 East Through Hartford, CT - YouTube

I love watching these videos, and would love to show everyone what my new commute looks like (BPT to Scranton PA).

So my project for us here at HS is to ask you all to film your area, high-speed it to keep us interested and show us what kind of roads you like to rape.

Whatcha think ?

... And are you prohibited from getting one ?

Doesn't have to be a $400 go-pro setup. I have a kodak walmart thingy for 60bucks and a tripod from the dollar store.

And while you're at it - Can you fix my title ? I hate having these fucked up titles for history to remember me by.

In the second video at 1:20 it says 55 mph, lol I have gone past cops at 75-80 and they don't move in that section. 1:58 thats my exit.

I didn't watch much of the video I just happened to fast fwd it a little and recognized the area.

You guys would get car sick from the awfully maintained roads I have to drive on every day. It's not avoid the pothole, it's hit the one you think is smallest.

You and me could compete for shittiest roads then. Mine are TERRIBLE!

But anyway, I'd be up for doing this once the weather is nice and I bring my RSX back out. I don't think you all need to see me trolling the Detroit area in my piece of shit 95 Civic, lol...

I would like to invoke my right against self incrimination.

It doesn't have to be a commute. Just a look at what the area around you is. I know E's area, and he's right - it's like a side street in beirut circa 1989.

I do intend on doing this at some point. I wonder how long my phone let's a video go for? At this point, it's probably better quality than my camera.

I don't have a commute... but if you guys wanna see me road raging on the way to pool league I can possibly do that...lol

rigged up my tripod in the back seat with some picture wire and did a test run around the area.... works pretty good, actually stable and not all jiggly.. next time i go anywhere i'll record it for everyones viewing pleasure... lol

I'm game !

I have my Kodak back in my possession, and am looking for a stable way to sit the tripod.

I'm heading out to CT on Monday, a 2.5 hour trip. It says it can record for that, but I'm not sure if the battery is game or not. I have to find my charger.

I should have my fiance do this on her way home from work. She has been at the job less than 2 months and goes to this one office 3 times a week. A couple of weeks ago someone thought a shoulder was a lane and almost side swiped her but ended up side swiping the car in front of her and pushing it into the opposing lane. Last night some 18yo side swiped her trying to go into a lefthand lane that didnt exist.
