Sucks man. What's the plan now?

Once had a friend make an accidental 3,2 instead of 3,4 shift at freeway speeds. I thought it was over with but no adverse effects.

But yeah that sucks. Hope it doesnt derail your plans.

Sorry to see that happened. Figured you were hoping to make it last through the year. It did sound like the motor was working kinda hard but I haven't heard too many BMW cars with big exhaust and such. Only a V8 I rode in once and it was pretty nasty. Car got up and went.

I'll get back to Houston later today, from here gonna pull the engine apart and fix whatever I broke, I guess :-/

At least you didn't flip it over, crash it, or have it catch on fire...

Those are hard problems.

A couple valves and baked potato pistons are easy fixes :D

The illustrious moneyshift of the E36. I've seen a few of them personally. Worst one was all valves dropped, engine was a complete loss.

I heard there are aftermarket mounts to avoid the moneyshift?

BTW, you're leaving a ton of track on the table there. Even if you're not driving it 9/10ths always use all the track you possibly can.

I've got all solid mounts, this particular failure is nothing more than driver error.

On member days, we're only allowed to pass on the straightaways. Since it was Good Friday and there was a good bit more traffic than usual (and most of them V8's), I'd go out and tool around at 30-40% for two laps, hot pit and check tire pressures, and then go back out and hit the track hard. There's no reason for me to put extra steering effort into going all the way out to the edge of the track in an instance where I'm not powering all the way out there.

sure there is. its just like shampooing your hair. lather rinse repeat. if you scrub slow, or fast, you still have to scrub all your hair.
