On member days, we're only allowed to pass on the straightaways. Since it was Good Friday and there was a good bit more traffic than usual (and most of them V8's), I'd go out and tool around at 30-40% for two laps, hot pit and check tire pressures, and then go back out and hit the track hard. There's no reason for me to put extra steering effort into going all the way out to the edge of the track in an instance where I'm not powering all the way out there.
Incorrect, you still use all the track, always.

Sorry, the 6 years of being a race instructor is coming out in me. :p

Blowing motors on the race track is in the air. Blew mine last weekend. Good friend of mine blew his the weekend before that. Fuck cars. :)

Funny, mine sounds almost like yours after death...

Cylinder head is currently at the machine shop having new valves and valve guides installed, along with Supertech springs and Ti retainers. Bottom end is torn apart, should have JE pistons and Eagle rods here sometime next week; my crankshaft is already back from being polished/rebalanced, and my new bearings are currently at PolyDyn getting coated. Should have it all back together sometime week after next (Week of the 12th).
