Hi guys looking at installing BMW M3 throttle's on a k20z4 motor, just wanted to find out if anyone has atempted something like it.
Installed electric water pump (tyred of replacing head gaskets every time the altinator belt comes off and the car overheats) on k20 some tunning and 138wkw 276nm torque, all stock internals.
The throttle in theory should work, not doing much for the kw but should increase the torque.
Have seen throttle's on a k20 witch is pushing 151wkw normal aspirated then again the guy spent a 3400 dollars on a set of throttle's. Fully forged motor though.
Saving money were I can for more mods that make sence.More bang for my buck I guess.

How many mm is the BMW throttle body? I'm guessing it's cable driven.

I doubt the bolt pattern is the same so you'd need to fab up an adapter plate. Proper TPS and IACV situation? (IACV can be deleted with K-Pro)

Will have to fabricate an adaptor plate and reposition the tps just need to get the injector angle corect with the valves. The intakes ports are almost identical will have to drill, tap and stud for the M3 throttle's on the adaptor plate.IAVC not a problem.

When it comes down to it a throttle body is a throttle body.. if you're willing to (and know how to) fabricate your own mount setup and linkages it won't be any big deal. 52mm should work fine.

Will post some pics as soon as I get the adaptor plate done with the right angle, the linkages are standard as used in the BMW's the bigest tric is getting the injector angle right to spray direct into the valve chamber.

52mm is small.. stock b-series is 60mm

they have always had ITBs
the e30 had them
the e36 didnt have them here but had them in Europe
the e46 had them
the e92 had them
not sure about the newest f80 m3 / f82 m4 with the twin turbo inline 6

Sorry guys yes the throttle's are from the E46 BM trouble u, having a look at the M5 throttle's for the B series as well, might work with a few mods.
The throttle size 52mm not the ideal size (54 mm -60mm would work better ) but more interested in the lenth of the throttle's make a big difference, so far the lenths that seem to work are between 140-145mm from head to butterfly. Need to check the difference on the dino.
