Kirito is actually one of the best newish characters in anime so far. So good on him.

Yeah. That's Kirito from Sword Art Online. Good character.

Finished up High School of the Dead. Pretty much what you'd expect. Zombies and school girls with huge titties flopping around. A bit over the top with the sex themes lol. But entertaining. Kinda left opened ended, I think they were planning for a second season, but ran out of material.

Also just finished up Death Note. I have mixed feelings about this one. I loved the first 15 or so episodes, but it dropped off for about 10 episodes and got kinda boring. It picks back up towards the end, but it was hard to keep interested up to that point. A lot of my mixed feelings are about the ending. While I very much enjoyed the ending, am I the only one who wished it didn't end the way it did? I wanted Light to win :(.

Not sure what to watch next. I have a bunch of episodes for SOA2, Blue Exorcist on Netflix, Hunter x Hunter, and Claymore queued up, but can't decide lol.

I just started Psycho-Pass. also on Netflix. seems ok so far. I like the premise at least.

We've been watching a lot of older stuff, an episode at dinner for the last few years, and binging on the weekends before Kenneth was born. There more but the more recent ones:

Ghost in the Shell
Original Dragon Ball
Gunslinger Girl
Initial D
Saint Seiya (the original, not the new ones)
Yu Yu Hakusho
Touch
Just wrapping up Cowboy Bebop for the 2nd time

EDIT: Thundercats 2011 too. It was great but I'm really upset that there's no season 2

I need to watch the rest of InitialD. I watched it years ago (on DVD) and didnt see past the one where he raced the chick with the Sil-80. At the time, i was reliant on the DVDs and they stopped coming out with them and i kinda forgot about it. Ill have to look it up.

gf has been getting me to watch Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO), it's her favorite anime. its pretty funny i guess, more absurd and ridiculous IMO lol.

Just started No Game No Life.

Pretty sure after just seeing the first episode I'm gonna like this one.

Already done. First season of what will definitely be a multi-season show and it was fantastic.

What about Teknoman, anybody watch that? I remember watching it as a kid, and the memories are good, but I haven't seen it in a long time.

Pleased with Pyscho-Pass. Starts a bit slow. And quickly escalates around episode 10/11.

Worth the watch.
And I love the futuristic dystopian theme

hmmmm didnt know so many anime fans were on this board... i firmly believe its a format of media and not just a "genre" so it really depends on what you are looking for....

anyway, a lot of good ones mentioned but i could recommend a few more:

slow pace, deals with oddities such as spirits and paranormal (not scary stuff), almost mockumentary-like:
-Mushishi
-Natsume Yuujinchou

slice of life, comedy, sitcom-like **girly stuff**:
-Bakuman
-K-On!

Scifi:
-Haruhi Suzumiya
-Guilty Crown

Funny Slap Stick:
-Space Dandy
-Gintama!

Shounen (DBZ/Naruto-like):
-JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
-Soul Eater

Sports Related:
-Kuroko no Basket (basketball)
-Haikyuu! (volleyball)

Mind-fuc*ed/thinking:
-Hikaru no Go
-Death Note

Movies that are good:
-Grave of the Fireflies
-Summer Wars
-Girl Who Leap Through Time
-Paprika
-Princess Mononoke

WTF satirical/fables/play on words/etc:
-Monogatari
-Katanagatari

Shoujo Magic Girls:
-Madoka Magica
-Magical Girl Nanoha

For toddlers:
-Folktales from Japan
-Doraemon
**Movies for kids to watch - Hayao Miyazaki eg Ponyo and Spirited Away**

All these of i have mentioned are worth your time. There are lot to watch but i feel like these are pretty good to start off with their respective genres if you like the those genres. My favorites, of course, are shounen jump and slow placed like so I really enjoyed Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Mushishi.

I've been watching anime from 1991, I think I've got everyone here beat on what has been watched and forgotten.

Just go to Gogoanime.com or join Crunchyroll.com

On CR, I just finished Arpeggio of Blue Steel, I hope they do a season two. If boats were women....hehe.

I dunno...ive been watching it since i can remember and it all started with Vampire Hunter D, Project A-ko, Saint Seiya, Eight Man, Iria and Ninja Scroll. Btw which are all great movies/series to watch.

edit: Im 30. So roughly around 89-91 when my neighbors got cable and i learned how to record off the boob tube.
