I've had my current set of tires for almost 50k miles and I'm happy with them overall... that being said, Im open to other options. Currently have yokohama at/s. Any of you guys have any personal experience with all terrain tires? Any input is appreciated.

Will see mostly street driving, where wet traction is very important (south fl downpours are pretty severe and numerous). I do tow boats often, and do some offroading here and there, lots of sugar sand, some mud.

I had the Duellers before and they are ok.

I like Cooper tires a lot and have had good luck. For a great price. I got Coopers for my snows and they work well.

I run Discoverer h/t pluses on my summer rims. Nice ride and handling. I drove them in the snow once and they did well.

Not a huge fan of the duelers, but i do like the Firestone Destination AT. They get awesome reviews and i see them on on a lot of trucks.

Anyone ever had Cooper destination AT3 tires before? Reviews look good and my tire guy recommended them. Price is les than the yokos, toyos, bfgs, about the same as the firestones and Bridgestone.

I'm running the Nitto Terra Grapplers right now- Discount Tire runs deals quarterly. They do awesome in Texas downpours, are very stable towing 6000 pound trailers at high speed even with the crazy deep tread, and do very well in the sand. I haven't had them in the mud very much, but no complaints so far. You're in Florida so you probably won't care, but they've done extremely well in the 2 weeks of ice and snow we get in Dalals every year. Very predictable.

I've got almost 30k on them and they're not any noisier than when they were installed. I'm guessing I probably have another 30k left in them, and I drive them HARD. High G corners and everything. Bonus- they're pretty lightweight in the non-LT spec. I went from a 30.6" tire on a 16x7 to a 33" on a 17x8.5 and the low weight and tread pattern let me still get the same overall gas mileage both in the city and highway after compensating for the taller gearing. The 285/70-17 is S rated for speed (285/75-16 is not, only Q) so it's rated to run the speeds I carry on the Texas tollway system.

My other choice was the BFG Rugged Terrain (not Rugged Trail, that's the older crappy one) which seems to get very similar usage and praise as the Terra Grapplers. I did consider the Firestone Destination A/T and the Cooper Destination AT3, but both looked like lesser tires compared to the Terra Grapplers and Rugged Terrains for how I wanted to use them. Mostly street with high speed highway, lots of rain, towing, and lots of sand. Some mud/rocks.

Oh, if your Xterra is the same generation as my Frontier (05+) then you can fit 285/70-17 (32.8" diameter) on a +10 to +20 offset wheel (stock is +30) with a 1.5-2" lift in front to level out. You have to max out your caster to push the wheel as far forward as they'll go in the wheel well with some eccentric bolts (I got 2 Moog sets on Amazon for $40) and then trim some of the lower valence to clear, but that's about it. Easy-ish fit. 31.7" diameter from the Nismo trim (265/75-16) fits with no trimming.

Thanks for the advice guys, i did plenty research. Decided to just go up to 265/75/16 instead of the previous 265/70's. Went with the Cooper At3, they are quiet and ride nice thats about all i can say after only driving about 6 miles on them. My truck sits noticeably higher compared the previous worn out tires (that were slightly smaller size too). Look pretty sweet i think, whatcha think?

Yeah, i saw that the offroad or ProX xterras come with 265/75 and thats what all the speedos in all models are calibrated to. And sure enough i used to read a good 2-3mph off at hwy speeds, now its dead on.

Got maybe 40 miles on the new tires now, i cant get over how quiet they are.

I got the Cooper HTP on my 4Runner.. its only 2wd so I didn't go all-terrain.. quiet tire too

I wish manufacturers would use cooper for oem tires. I have had really good luck with them.
