lookin good. Come up here and take me to the bar. I'll buy you a beer.

Yeah I saw that. And it does include my year. Says Impreza but I'm not sure if WRX is specifically included. I haven't gotten any official notices about it yet from Subaru.

got the brake line recall done. Looks like they sprayed WD-40 on one one line... -__-

Had to replace my winter front shocks (again) due to leaking. But KONI lifetime warranty FTW!

Also cleaned out and re packed the grease in the top hat bearings. One was seized, now it's smooth as butter.

Also, this spring compressor is amazing :)

I'll have the winter suspension back on in the next few weeks.

your last few pages kind of triggered that I should replace my o2 as well. It's oem but my wideband has been acting funny for a while. riches itself into the 12's at idle but while cruising it's spot on.

sensor has been taken out a few times and did get pinched one time. lol.

Where did you order your sensor from? Subaru or another company?

I noticed the spring compressor immediately! Looks like a dandy.

Dealer maintenance - I've had so many bad experiences with GM & Chrysler dealer maintenance I swore it off forever 20+ years ago. There's very few I let touch any more just because it's not worth the frustration.

Yeah it was a recall. So I kinda had to take it to them.

But also. Since my car has like 135,000mi on it at this point, and these things aren't really known for long lasting wheel bearings, I've decided to be a bit pro-active about it. I'm buying 1 new bearing every few weeks when I have some spare cash. And I'll replace them in the spring at about 150,000 when I switch back to summer mode or when one goes bad, whichever comes first.

So since the bearing assembly on these aren't press in anymore, you buy the whole assembly and just bolt it on. I've decided since I have these fresh bearing off the car, might as well add ARP studs while I'm at it lol.

Getting the OE studs out was easy, just pressed them out, but I can't line up the studs/hub on the press due to the weird shape on the back. I used one of my winter wheels and an old rotor to get the new studs in.

Used a bit of anti-seize, tightened the lug nuts until I hit 90ftlbs (didn't want to over tighten and damage the studs), and that got the studs in about 3/4 of the way. Finished up up with a few whacks on the back of the stud with a 2lb sledge using a 3/8 extension to focus the blows on the back of the stud.

Finished!

I've only bought the two rear bearings so far. I'll do the other rear tomorrow and the fronts whenever I get them.

love those style compressors. pretty much the safest... and easiest.

Got a deal on these so I picked them up.

JDM STi FHI 4-pots, brand new.
Dimensionally identical to the 06-07 USDM WRX calipers (red) but these are black instead.

The 4-pots I have now are all beat up from the past 3 years and the painting I did didn't last as well as I'd hoped. And instead of tearing them down, repainting, rebuilding, and reinstalling, I can just swap these in, sell the old ones and only be like 100 in the hole with nicer calipers in the end.

He meant ricer.. don't get it twisted..

Well son of a gun, I went back in the thread and checked - you're right Mike. He should have known that would not have gone unnoticed.

It's the same setup I had. Just brand new. Only bought because of the deal really, and the no downtime aspect of just swapping calipers rather than having the car down for a few days to pull, clean, and properly repaint the old ones.

I'll cleanup the old ones, maybe throw a new coat of paint on them. And sell 'em off.

got tired of my engine bay being a nightmare to work in because of my Spearco Top Mount Intercooler. The IC works great, but it's just such a hassle. basically, it fits like shit. if i take it off, it takes forever to get all the bolts lined up JUST right, and theres zero room to work around it. and getting it on and off requires getting under the car to undo the rear bracket.

so i bought a new one. Grimmspeed just came out with this, and it should fit a HELL of a lot better. and wont require getting under the car to get it on and off.
It's not jut painted with black paint, it's actually a thermal dispersant to enhance the thermal transfer away from the core better than just the raw aluminum. which is why i wrapped up the whole thing with the gold tape again. the thermal dispersant works both ways, and it would heat soak faster since the turbo is close.

planning to install it this weekend.
