I have a 97 civic with a d16y7 block w/ y8 head that is locked up due to spun rod bearing. I just bought a d15 non vtec block that I plan to swap. I know I will have to remove the plug for the vtec oil jet, but other than that is this a pretty straight forward swap? I'm a diesel guy and know little about honda stuff but I did do the d16y7 w/ y8 head setup when I bought the car with a blown up d16y8 engine.
