chucks 91 crx

I have a b16a already in the car I bought I was wondering what engine harness is good to use to rewire it need to wire in the O2 sensor an vtec solenoid so it can work good. And also the wires are hacked up a little probably going to replace the jumper because wires are spliced wrong I think any help on wire diagram for a p28 ecu. Thanks

Short of a 88-91 Si harness and a B series harness blended together, I'd say you contact Rywire and get a complete harness from them. But you may want to take on the challenge and make your own with the 2 harness I mentioned.

is your stock car mpfi (hf/si) or dpfi? (dx/std) if its dpfi, you'll need to convert to mpfi as well

All I know I bought the car its a 1991 crx si and had a friend look at it and it has a 92 to 95 p28 ecu in it and a b16a motor in it. It had a turbo on the motor, so i just replaced it back to stock motor without turbo. Just want to rewire the harness because some wires are cut and spliced and some wires don't go anywhere and trying to figure out where the wires hookup for the O2 sensor and vtec.

Si is MPFI

OBD1 B-series engine that is VTEC is the way to go because your motor is a B16. Also, a 92-95 Civic D16Z6 can work well with a few extensions of plugs. But you'd still need to mate it to your Si harness.

I'm not sure how bad your current harness set up is. It might be fine with some TLC and patience.....which would save you some money.

The harness on the engine isn't the Original harness for 1991 crx si d16 engine. It's a b16 harness. Because it's hooked up to a jumper and then hooked up to the p28 ecu.

I was figuring your jumper harness is taking the OBD0 plugs and converting them for your OBD1 ECU.

It could be an OBD0 B16 harness. But that seems less likely.

Can I use the b18 harness to help me rewire my engine. And then wire in the 02 sensors and vtec solenoid to the p28 ecu.

Are the B16 and the b18 harness are the same or different.

There are a variety of B18 engines. One category is based on the OBD Version. OBD0 or OBD1 or OBD2(a)(b). Then there VTEC and Non-VTEC B18's. Your ECU is OBD1 For a D16Z6 motor.

Did your B18 harness come with VTEC plugs that attach at VTEC solenoid near distributor?

Maybe you have a OBD0 B18A1 harness now? (88-91 Integra).

I'm guessing your ECU is chipped for the B16? Any knowledge of that or if it has a socket for plugging into a computer?

You have a tough situation with pre-done stuff and an EF swap always takes more. You should be able to make what you have work.

I know there are jumper harnesses that have pigtails for VTEC, O2 and Knock Sensor

If all plugs off engine and where they lead are in good condition, it's just a matter of fixing it. But the amount of info you've given makes it tough to see.

The p28 ecu isn't chipped I just need to find out what harnesses would I need to rewire it. It's a b16a vtec and the harness is from the B16 but there is some wires missing for the o2 sensors and the vtec solenoid. Is there a good wire layout on a p28 ecu on where the O2 sensors go and the vtec solenoid.

That harness will simply allow you to 'plug in' the obd1 ecu into your obd0 car. The wires for o2 and vtec will still need to be run manually as they are simply not a part of your engine harness at all.

Sourcing a cannon plug can be difficult if you don't have the engine harness to work with.

A jumper harness like the one I pasted will have wires off the plug that go to VTEC and O2. But you will need the plugs w/pigtails (at the actual sensors) for VTEC, (VTEC) Oil Pressure and O2. Then connect the pigtail ends to the jumper harness ends. You may need a schematic for the wires off the sensors though. A helms manual (electronic or paper version) will help with that. Plugs and pigtails can be found on a variety of D and B VTEC harnesses.

The harness I have which is a b16 harness, the wires are snipped close to the harness connector so I would want to replace the whole harness on the B16. Is the b18 harness the same as the B16 harness so all I have to do is run the jumper harness off of the p28 ecu to connect to the engine harness.

No B18 VTEC (B18C, B18C1, B18C5) will be OBD0 so it will not be plug and play. It can be modified (like I mentioned in my first post) to work with your OBD0 system by mating what you have (B16 OBD0 harness) with the B18 VTEC harness . Any plugs that are different would need for you to use the OBD0 plugs instead of the OBD(1 or 2) plugs.

B18 OBD0 is a non VTEC B18A1 and can work but would need VTEC plugs ran to the ECU.

You have a difficult car for swaps. EG and EK are much easier to swap B-Series into.

I am aware that the swap is difficult but that's the way I bought the car and thanks all for the help and understanding all of this.
