^ You can do it. Pull existing top, splash a mold from it then make a prototype from the mold and take it from there. You may tweak the prototype with bondo or whatever, then pull a mold from the finished prototype and make your final part.

Pump stuff can vary so much. You can get a good batch...no doubt. But, yes, it's inconsistent...like 70% instead of 85% (winter as an example).

Then add in the fact of it sitting....like winter time. Any condensation is bad news for E85. Been thinking about The blends offered by a few race gasoline makers.

$10/gallon is high but if I only drag race and tow it there....not that much gas is consumed. Couple bucks a pass.

Ethonal doesn't store as well as basic gasoline. In terms of the prepper nation.....only works if you can still have access to products to distill. Hope the zombies don't like corn.

Man, you're taking a bunch of rumors for fact. (Unless you're actually measuring) Even if it is that far off it wont make much of a difference for an NA car. Yes you'll need bigger injectors and maybe even a fuel pump.

I've been using pump E85 for over 5 years now. 4 years in my Evo I sold making 380whp on a stock turbo at 27 psi, and over 2 years on my Honda with 13:1 CR.

Try E85, it is fantastic stuff. I love it.

Also I store 20+ gallons, once up to 9 months long. Was just fine.

The rumors on water condensation and how it can ruin stuff seem scientifically applicable. Especially for a car that can sit for months at a time. Talking to some seasoned hard core drag racers gave me the info on pump E85 and the variations that are within the loose ass regulations. Add to the fact pump E85 in my town is AM/PM....their gas has always been known as bottom feeding crap.

But I agree...I can't really know unless I try. But the thought of crap being ruined b/c my car sat has sketched me out.

I have a fuel pump. But not sure if it's big enough. Should be. I know a car (K20) that runs FTW Purple on the same Walbro. He had ID 1000 injectors, ported IM, and S2 cams. Stock block. Made 264whp!! But the gas claims to be 120 octane!

they have a WAY better selection of fabrics and resins than the average parts store or art supply places around me

Maybe I just need to order sub box fiberglass goodies from them...

My DelSol race car runs on E85 and recently went through an 9 month stationary period (no starts at all) with E85 in the tank and in 4x5gallon jugs. No problems at all (aside from cold start) and I'm running near 13:1 CR on that motor. I use pump E85 from many different places.

Also bear in mind E85 comes from a different distributor so it is impossible to compare E85 quality vs Petrol quality at the same station.

The only case I would stay away is if you're running high compression with a lot of boost tuned at the very edge of what the fuel can handle. But for mild built NA or mild Turbo it is a fantastic fuel.

I have a walboro 255lph fuel pump with RC 440 cc's. My injectors were just enough for that 1.8.

I've made the decision to make the car a track race car. Just bought some suspension goodies. Once they've made it to me....I'll post some pictures. Hopefully won't be more than a few weeks.

Probably a good decision. You can have much more fun and stay out of trouble. Good move!

Yes....left and right turns. Infeneon Raceway is th closest to me but I'd like to travel to other tracks. Can't wait to get the suspension parts in my hands. I'll post pictures when they get here. I bought the parts I've wanted for a while. Merry XMAS to me :)

Got most of my parts to get my suspension ready for a track. Rear sway is coming soon.

I will probably go to Thunderhill Raceway or Sonoma Raceway this year. I need more things....like rims and tires and various other goodies but I'm closer. Now I got to install it all. Garage rug showing it's true colors under the flash.

AMR coilovers 650lb fronts and 750lb rears with F7 Rear LCA's and Subframe Brace

Hardrace Bushing Kit and AMR front camber kits.

Got a new set of wheels and tires.

15x8 4x100 +35 Enkei PF01's and Nitto 225/45/R15's

New parts should start going on in the next few weeks.

Forgot to mention that the tires are Nitto NT01's. I talked to a guy named Katman and he's got a similar set up. I used his experiences to make the decision to buy the tires. I figure (if I don't like them) I can try another brand when these need to be changed. I'm hoping they last for half a dozen trips to the track. Just time attack for now.
