ok, you said you took yours out because of vibration, what do you mean? and you said it was like it was begging for gas what are the down sides of a motor swap besides cost. and if i am going to do a swap on a 83 civic 1500 dx 5 speed what would you do in my case?
sice your a vet ;)

well what i mean is the motor mounts that i had made was solid, so there was no where for the vibration to go, mounts could have been made to where they would absorb the vibration. and mine i could really cruise in it, bc of that it wanted to be floored full throttle rather than just cursing the streets getting looked at. in my case if i had to do it all over again i would have just painted the car and been done with it.

I have an '83 civic that blew a headgasket a few months ago and I've been researching this same swap. There's a lot of conflicting information out there and not a lot of good build threads, so if you do the swap make sure you post a good thread :)

I found a lot of interesting stuff on the 1stgencivic.com forums in the archives section. It's a lot of greybeards who don't know how to post pics, but they have some nuggets of wisdom. One guy posted that 2 right side 83 civic axles would work with a transmission from the 1st gen integra, and someone else said that the A series in the 85-87 accord was a drop in swap with no fab work needed. Some of those guys are getting some impressive HP out of the little EM-1 too, with goldwing high compression pistons and really aggressive cams porting etc.

Well i got an 83 1300fx 5 speed and i took the stock motor out just cause i want more power im rewiring the car now with a ef si harness im putting my jdm high compretion b20b in it but the only thing i havent figured out is what to do with the axles since the B and D series axles are way bigger than the stock ones and so i was lookin for alittle answers

you will have to get the axles custom made.

Cause if i just leave um ill need a b series on one side and an 83 on the other and these cars are light as hell thats why im doing it and plus ive never seen one here with that kind of a swap in it i live in salem oregon so not many people know about the 83 all the now about are the newer hondas

well you could go either route. there is a thread on here somewhere of an 80-83 b series swap somewhere. id prolly just get the custom axle ends made where its half b series half stock for the civic.

Oh ok thanks for your input i was just wonderin i think it would be easier to justget the axles made like you did im not sure if thats what you did i was just assuming looks like im gunna need to find a axle shop to do it for me only problem is i already got rid of the stock axles

yeah they will need that part for sure. they may have some though if there a large axle shop.

Forsure so im in salem oregon where are you somewhere they do alot on honda stuff or what

good ole alabama, lots of axle shops, 1 or 2 good honda tunning shops but thats about it.

Dam alabama lol thats a ways away i need to start lookin for a shop or just do um myself i can weld like no other but i dont have a machine to balance um so i think it would just be easier to pay sombody to do um
