Ah so it probably already had another motor in it.... Well that's fun. The motor looked like it had every bit of the 193k miles on it but like I said the thing was a hack job out of Tampa so who knows. I found some wiring things my brother told me he would "kill me" if I ever do haha. So it shouldn't be an issue with my new block right? Because I'm using most of the same parts besides the block and the internals (Eagle 9:1 rods and pistons, rings, studs, etc) so everything should still "plug and play" in true Honda fashion, or is it the year of the new block going to affect something? I'm using the old head just fyi

The wiring harness plugs into the components on the head. So if you are using all the same parts, you'll be fine.

not necessarily a different motor... it's common to convert to obd1 for tuning reasons.... odb2 doesn't (or at least at one point didn't) have many options.

the engine should have a vin plate, tranny too. if it doesn't match the car, it's a swap.

I have given every last ounce of myself this week and it feels wonderful.

The engine bay is stripped clean, I just have to clean it with some BASF 900 (pre-prep cleaning solution, stuff works miracles), sand it down, and my dad is gonna help spray it. Tomorrow Between 12 and 1 I pick up my built motor and from here on out it's all reassembly.

So talking to my brother who used to streetrace (SRT4 and later an Evo IX with 360whp) and he suggested a lightweight flywheel. I'm running 9:1 compression, so my thought is with the lightweight flywheel I'll be getting my RPMs up faster and engaging boost faster. I found a 7.5lb aluminium flywheel by ACT which I've read is a good brand, and now i'm looking at clutch kits. What would you guys recommend for my goal 350whp? (I consider my clutchwork very good)

I used to run an Exedy clutch. ACT makes a decent clutch as well.

More progress! Yay! haha... Well as you guys know my car is at the shop on a twin post lift while I get the engine bay taken care of. It's technically in one of my brother's 4 stalls, and its next to our lead bodyman Matt (awesome, funny guy that sounds like Boomhauer from King of the Hill) so I found some messages written in the dust on the rear glass. I also scraped the "JDM AF" sticker off the back glass of my totally USDM Teggy... haha.

I picked my motor up last weekend (yay!) and it cost 150$ less then what I thought (More yay!). My brother ordered me some engine mounts, and found an Exedy clutch kit that I like so I bought that too. So the new motor has Eagle 9:1 Rods and Pistons, the block and head were honed and balanced, they did a 3 angle grind on my valves, put new springs in the head, and all sorts of extra stuff for me. Ye olde Exploder hauled the motor back to the shop where I put it on an engine stand the guy I bought the car from threw in. It's cheap but functional. I also hugged my motor and looked like a derp, because I'm weird like that.

It actually uploads them that way and I'm not sure how to fix it, the original photos are all rightside up

So I decided black would be boring for the engine bay and went yellow to match the body. My dad got it all sprayed out today in exchange for some help with his airboat. Gotta sandblast the headers and paint those, and paint up the new motor. From here on out its all reassembly!View attachment 23668
Again it uploaded the picture sideways... any idea how to fix that?

you need to resave them upright to your computer before uploading them. you're taking pictures that are turned horizontal and that's how they upload.

The image file is right-side-up in my computer and on my phone though. Just as a test I rotated it and uploaded it and it still came sideways. 90% of my photos are taken right side up so i don't have to crop much for Instagram. And the other photos i uploaded before were right side up, any ideas?

the uploader here reads the image data to know if it was taken landscape or portrait mode and attempts to flip it. No one else has issues... lol so its gotta be a setting on your phone that marks it incorrectly

@Briansol I just tested it with a landscape picture and it came out correctly so I'll just be conscious of that from here on out. Must be my phone.

So I was at a preaching seminar for a week which put the teggy on hold for a week. Tonight after work I'm going to degrease the subframe and reinstall it, and start putting the engine bay back together. Tomorrow afternoon my friend is coming down to help out as well, hopefully between today and tomorrow I can have the bay ready for the motor.

SO. I'm kind of an odd guy. I love watching and playing sports but I also have pokemon emulators on my phone and know more than most people about that stuff, and I stream League of Legends with my clan in my spare time. I'm probably going to get a custom shift knob with a charmander on it which I'm excited about (though i'm not sure if anyone besides me would think it's cool)

And I was looking at wheels. I like the ones on it a lot but I found this style of wheel in bronze

How do you guys think the KR1's would look on an Integra? I haven't yet seen one with that style of wheel on it

Expect another update today or tomorrow as well

So today my friend Tim came over and helped me degrease the subframe and install it, and run all the brakelines and the clutch line. It's getting closer and I'm really excited.

Here's the engine bay as we left it

And the subframe all cleaned up

1) you already have a bright yellow pokemon car. just roll with it. :lmao:
2) who cares if anybody else thinks it's cool. it's your car, your money. fucking own it. do whatever makes you happy.
