So. Today my brother gave me a hand (he was down there working on his new family car, 2014 Toyota Sequoia) and we assembled the clutch, flywheel and mounted the transmission. Gotta get a new flywhweel dust cover. I assembled the left side of the engine bay besides the ABS Module, and I gotta paint the assembled long block and then the motor goes in the car.

@Briansol I'm going to paint the engine/tranny silver and do some "fancy" yellow stuff on the valve cover. Also gotta sandblast and paint the headers.

@Briansol I bought some "header" paint thats supposed to withstand 5000-7000 degrees or whatever, its just flat black. The way it looks now is kinda awful compared to the rest of it

Hey guys been a while since I posted anything. Went on a trip for a week and then just got busy and backlogged with stuff, besides the heat being obnoxious. Going to try and paint my motor tonight, and get it mounted in the car. Hopefully have it driving by Saturday.

I bought a black interior (dash, trim panels, black leather rear seats) on craigslist so no more ugly brown interior against the yellow. I bought a suspension bushing kit that should be coming in today so I can work on that in the meantime.

Question for you guys:
The odometer (part where it goes into the transmission) has no wires going to it. The plug head is there without any wires coming out of it and i'm honestly not sure what to do lol any advice is helpful

that's the Vehicle Speed Sensor. probably need to re-pin it, or get a new tranny side plug to make it easy

Got the motor painted tonight... Admittedly not the color I thought it was going to be.
But with that said, WOW. I'm happy.

Tomorrow night I do the suspension bushings, and im going to do everything in my power to have it done Saturday. Here's to a couple more 12 hour days.

It looks good and all, but it would have been much easier to paint before you installed cams and pulleys lol

It took me a full weekend to do the bushings on my 91 hatchback. I used Energy Suspension polyurethane and did them all, front and rear. If you can do it in a day, you're a lot faster than I am!!!! :) It tightened up the ride real nicely.

I wont be doing bushings anytime soon. Pain in the butt. Technique is a must and I have very little of it when it comes to working the press. I used metal shims to get the suspension piece just right. Lots of trial and error.

Fortunately I've got my dad who installed an energy suspension kit on his 1970 Chevy truck and my brother whos an ASE master mechanic along with a 50 ton press and a 3/4 drive socket set to use for pressing... but that said it is looking more like a 2 day project. Im doing the front first since it's already apart and then ill get into the rear later.

I got started tonight on the lower control arms... and the "2074" fitting (the one the diagram shows) is far too small and doesnt match the original bushing so i might try and get a preloaded OEM arm.

Sounds good to me. It's worth every cent and hour of time. It'll handle better than a new car. I started on the front end when I did mine. Ended up taking the LCA's to a machine shop to press out the old bushings. On the rear arms I used a 3/8" drill bit and mangled them, then cleaned the holes up with a sanding drum on a cordless drill. I have a 10 ton press and it was too dangerous to press them out.

Front control arm bushings are done. Ball joints tomorrow night. All thats left for bushings is the steering rack and the shifter bushings.
So in the pic you can see my coilovers. Those came with the car already installed, they say "VR" on them but other than that I have no way to identify them, does that sounds familiar to any of you?

So. Basically. Ugh. I knew this time was coming because everything else in the build was going super well. But here goes...
I went to drop the motor in the car... only to find I had never ordered a transmission mount because I had ordered all of the engine mounts not realizing one would be labeled differently. A whole slew of bolts and stuff is missing from the mount system (thanks to the previous owner) and the machine shop installed the cams wrong. The one that mates to the distributor is on the wrong side. On the bright side there's an Integra Nation meet in Lakeland I wanna go to, on Nov 1st so that's like my hard deadline (shouldnt take that long) and maybe even have it boosted by then. And work has been awful lately. But hey, keep grinding I guess. I'm in my best friend's wedding (as the best man :D) October 10th and I'm going on vacation for a week at the end of this month so it's gonna be iffy.
GL right?
