No wonder the CPSC hates go karts

It's done processing now, and I've got a new one with GPS Overlay. I'll replace it here in a sec.

It gets up over 30Mph, so, yeah. It's pretty quick.

I think the first video it indicated 45.1 or 45.2, lol.

I need to buy a MIG welder so I can beef up the frame. I'm kinda done with the FCAW shit.

you totally hit the fence. lol

my friend growing up had one. home made pipes welded and a briggs 1 wheel peeler on the back with a tire-scrub brake.

had his dad pace him in his truck, hit like 55. lol it was scary

Oh, I know I hit the fence, I turned and looked at it too. I still need to get down there and put it back up. That's the nice thing about stacked wood as a fence, when a go-kart or deer hits it, it's no big deal.

I'm using Sony PlayMemories with an ActionCam as30v. It works pretty well for being a freebie with the camera.

I have to figure something out. The steering wheel keeps banging the right side of my left knee, and the tube on the left keeps banging the left side of my left leg just below my knee.

I have a 212 predator engine coming this week sometime, and two front tires in the mail too. The bald fronts really make it hard to control. I can probably get 10hp out of the predator pretty easily with just a re-jet, intake, exhaust. Hopefully the torque converter will hold up to the power and extra rippems.

Juat do like I did and pull the governor out. The engine I had was stock at like 3500rpm and without the governor would safely hit 5000rpm. They had aftermarket valve springs to let it rev higher.

I've got aftermarket springs coming. Along with a new jet, larger air filter, and an exhaust pipe.

Got the engine parts, everything but the air filter. :( They're shipping me an air filter now.

I pulled the governor out, put the heavier valve springs in, got the throttle linkage working, put the exhaust pipe on, intake adapter on, and now it doesn't like to turn over.

I have air, fuel, and spark. It might just be that I don't have it bolted to anything really heavy, it's just c-clamped to my work table. It ran fine the first time I cranked it, but died when it tried to idle. Aaaaaand as I type this, I think that the plug might be fouled.

We'll see.

I remember when I took the governor off of mine there was a butterfly valve that it controlled that needed to be secured so it stayed open.

Yeah, I reworked the throttle to get everything working correctly. I wound up drilling a hole in the arm to get it to work, and bent up a new linkage arm. I got the engine running. I put too much oil in it. Apparently all it needs is like 12oz, not 18oz.

It's mortifyingly fast. It did 50mph with great ease on the "closed course" nearby. If it weren't about to get dark then pour down rain, I'd take it out again and shoot some better video.

I put some of @GSRCRXsi 's leftover DEI Exhaust Wrap on the tailpipe. It might make a difference, but probably not. It was interesting when the wrap "burned off" after first installing it.
