its time again.
oem's, got 40k on em, the stock brembo's.

got about 42 k out of my last set. r1 concepts eline rotors, stop tech street perf pads
i never got the rotors turned. it ran about 440 shipped on a group buy 3 years ago.

I hit up the sales guy i worked with last time to see what they have on special.
he has their premier line up this time around (an upgrade) for 520 shipped with the st sp pads again. Considering the oem rotors are over 350 a pop from the dealer, it's a pretty good price :)

he said this is all styles- blank, drilled, slotted, and combo drill/slot.

now, i know blanks are where it's at for the most part.... i have more than enough braking power in the car with the current set up.
Ive never turned them.. so it's a non issue.
I probably won't own this car 40k miles from now when they are shot again. and if i do, i wont turn it.. i'll just do a new set again. it's just easier and doesn't save a ton of money.
I'll doubt i'll ever track the car and am not really concerned with cracking.

I think i want to be a ricer and go for the drilled/slotted combo. I think they will look good behind the gen2 wheels i'm rocking now. and maybe increase my mpg by being lighter.
these st sp pads also suck in the winter. it's too cold for them, so the slots will help warm them up quicker.

talk me out of it....
there's 0 price difference.

Blanks and ceramic pads ,drilled and slotted are to release gases from the pads under Heat and ceramic pads do not produce any gases and low brake dust and great stopping power ,if you use slotted or drilled rotors and ceramic pads you just have big cheese graters

DRILLED AND SLOTTED! :p

My big bro the mechanic likes just slotted but not drilled for performance but i don't truthfully know. Unless you're vigorously slamming on the brakes all the time i don't see why you wouldn't just go with blanks. Drilled and slotted does look nice esp with painted calipers.

hps is an option, they are $50 more, but from what i've heard on the boards, they don't fit right in the calipers so i've avoided them

My porterfields were a terrible fit. But a file and some elbow grease changed that.

it's the other way.... they are too small and float in the caliper

that really sucks. i know these things are massed produced, but hawk has been in the game for awhile, and they have some sweet pads. WHY HAWK WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US?

Yeah, i haven't researched if there's a new model number since then, but last time i looked around everyone was swapping 'em out for clunnking issues and sliding back and forth.
