I've been checking these things out for a while now, and I think I'm ready to buy one. I need to know which ones have the best software for ease of use, and also upgradability for gm ford and dodge specific packs for external modules. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Mods move this to the appropriate forum if I picked wrong.

Big anwser short is a bluetooth obd scanner and a tuner are 2 completely different thing , please feel free to do any research or your own before asking/posting things like this, Snap-On has had wireless bluetooth paired scan tools for over 10 years, idk why you would want a bluetooth tuner not like changing stuff on the fly

I don't have any need for tuning at this point. I am simply looking at the diagnostic side. I've seen obdlink, and blue driver, but I guess I'm looking for more experience stories. Personally, I'd like to be able to read body codes from my gmc.

friend of mine has one for his VW, i don't recall which one off the top of my head, works well and even has some more advanced features like allowing him to turn things on or off like operating windows from the keyfob and adjusting things like the "lane change blinker" (tap blinker lever and it blinks 3-5 times)
allows him to see model specific codes for his VW and gives generic codes for other vehicles
he likes it and it was not expensive at all
ill try to remember to ask him about it when i see him next

You are wanting a bi-directional scan tool

Bi directional would be awesome, but I think I'd settle for being able to read ALL of the codes, and have the ability to delete them. I think I just wanted to read the B1E3A code as it sets on my gmc. My Innova scanner wouldn't read it, and a snap on modis ultra would not even talk to the truck, with the correct key installed.

Snap ons are awesome, but spendy. GM tech 2 devices are, well, just for GMs. I want something more reasonably priced and more universal, but I don't know anyone with a Bluetooth unit with a gm service pack software installed. That's why I tried not to give a "this is what I want" scenario. Tell me what I want!

That sounds good. Thank you.

Key'd snap on tools are all over 10 years old and probably not updated, they make some cheaper Launch brand scan tools that are nice or a blue point microscan

Meh onlything remotely accurate or useable on that android scan tool will be live data, nothing else will be accurate its all from the computers signal , better off buying a cheapo code reader than that
