yeaa I thought this was a b20 ? and having the sensors unplugged and "turned off" arent the same thing , also knock sensor is 110% needed in tuning the engine will add timing to make more power until it senses knock then will back off the timing to prevent detonation, again every single sensor on the engine is needed for performance of the engine , also the plate you posted on trans is the vin and it states dc2 integra soo its probably a LS trans and maybe a gsr, you can see in your picture its a b16a2 and you can see the head stamp p72-1 which is a usdm gsr head , soo you have a usdm b16 with a usdm gsr head you raised compression a few points but very minimal , soo again from what you have been spewing out does seem silly because whats actually there vs whats said

sooo again not being rude but not a single JDM or SIR part is in this thread like I thought, 100% all usdm stuff, which isnt a big deal but just clarifying

No the block is marked B20b on the front. The block is from Japan.

The Head is Marked B16A2 and its the SiR version from Japan.

If I must I can take a picture of the B20b mark myself. I've seen it with my own eyes so unless its a mis-marked block which I would believe would be incredibly rare, then its a B20b block.

And I have read huge amounts of info on the B20Vtec's

And based on all the research I have done and the markings and how fast the motor is it is exactly what I claim it is.

The only mystery at this point is the internals which I will be finding out very soon.

And a side note I am going to be running Mobile 1 Full Synthetic 10w 30 in the motor starting next week.

dude these are the pics you posted yesterday.... of your engine and trans aparantly ... sooooooooooooo yea

and b16a2 is a usdm civic block/bottom end motard the p72-1 is the head stamp

So again by your lack of knowledge and by what you been posting I'm starting to think this whole thread and others you posted is bullshit...

Heads don't come stamped with an engine code they have a casting number. It does appear to be a b16 bottom end with a GSR head. Probably is a GSR trans though, if it was ls/rs/gs it would say DC4 @dilbeckskate. DC2 is GSR. Whoever sold you this got you unfortunately.

The only positive I can see is obviously the GSR head did not come on a B16 block factory so maybe it does have aftermarket bits from the rebuild. This would further explain why you can rev the motor so high without going boom.

That B16A2 stamp is 100% attached to the block. It's at the very edge of the block right where it meets the transmission. You may have been told it was a B20 bottom end, but you were given wrong information. B16A2 is out of a USDM 99/00 Civic Si. JDM motors do not end in a number (i.e. B18C, B16A)

And, yes, transmissions have their own codes.....not the same as engine codes. Same thing for heads.....they got their own codes.

ah I could he incorrect but I thought dc2/dc4 was by year and bumper change but I could be wrong , and yes bottom line every single thing here is usdm not Sir/Jdm any of that over hyped jazz , also just because can be revved to moon doesnt mean good for it or that it makes power, and the thread is misleading on power cause 1 post will be talking about how fast it is and next post will be still finishing it soo can drive it , as stated ealier stop worrying about the hype of jdm sir hellaflush tyte power and actually sit down and accept what you are working with and have and go from there, not being a dick but both your threads spew out that you dont know what you are talking about again not being a dick but sit back and soak in the info we are giving you, dont trust the dipshit thats spoon feeding you and youre eating it up

im starting to find some clashing of whats what between your 2 threads lol .. this was the engine/trans shots in the other thread, im starting to lean torwards this isnt your car and is a buddys ersumshit cause your info/stories are all sorts of crossed

Soo Dan The Honda Man lets clear this up which is it ? rode hard and put up wet and leaking oil like fack b20v or prestine usdm b16a2 w/ gsr trans, and please keep up the good work that was an enjoyable relief

Ok ok. Those other pics that show B16A2 I have no idea where those pictures came from and thats the truth. I thought I was posting pictures of the transmission. I think those were pics of a spare block I was thinking about buying from the guy that sold me the transmission. I paid $850 for the transmission and its works great just has super short gears. You think I paid too much?

The bottom end is clearly stamped B20b because I've seen it for myself. And yes THIS IS MY CAR AND MOTOR.

My friend and I are working on it together. I never claimed to be a mechanic but I am trying to learn how to do things on my car for future rebuilds or whatever down the road. I was told by the guy that sold me the head that it was a SiR JDM head. However its possible I am wrong. Either way I know its either the Sir, the GSR or the regular b16 head or whatever.

I am curious now and I am going to double check all of the markings and take 2 more pictures of MY MOTOR. One of the head and one of the bottom end in order to stifle all this non sense.

Moving forward.

I purchased the traction bar kit from Full-Race today. Its supposed to be for a EK chassis that has a B-Series motor the sales rep sold it to me for $260 shipped out the door. Got him to give me a discount. That should be here by Saturday.

I'm often confused as to why someone would be dishonest as they ask for opinions and advise. Not in all aspects of life but definitely confused when it comes to cars that are worth less than $5k.
