I have a Y1 transmission that I have hooked up to my b16 fiat x1/9 swap. I am running the Fiat shifter because trying to use the honda shifter to go mid engine was being a pain trying to route both rods around the fiat's stuff going back to the trans. I finally got the rod/shifter positioned in a way I have full movement EXCEPT when it comes to reverse. I get the rotational movement but pulling back on the shifter (pushing the shifter input inwards) it wont go in. The trans worked fine when it was in the donor car and the transmission was not changed in any way. The Engine was not running when I tried this and the clutch was not engaged, could this be the issue? someone also mentioned a 5th to reverse lockout as well. here is a Video of what it is doing.

thanks!

5th and 2nd are the 2 tough gears to engage if the linkage is not the right shape/bend.
I can't see the vid right now (blocked at work) but i'm guessing that's the issue. It really needs to be perfect.

I can get all forward gears pretty easily. dang work policies, dont they realize that people need help with their cars during business hours? ;)

Look when you can. this has been a 7 year project (thanks to life and kids) so no rush.
