As some of you already know, I landed a new daily finally! Months and months of searching for right combination of "truck" "luxury" and "practicality" lead me to this 2006 Nissan Titan LE with 96k miles. Dark leather interior, dark red paint. It needs a lot of little stuff but for 6600 I'm very pleased. First priority is removing the plastidip and giving the interior a good cleaning. It was a repossession and I got it at Manheim auctions.

New plugs, K&N drop-in filter installed. It survived the drive home from Tampa and I've been driving it the last two days. We scanned it and it threw a transmission code my brother says its a 50/50 if it needs a tranny or not. The Titan/Armadas can have transmission issues, but he's got a few possible fixes first. The nice part is he's owned an 05 for the last 6-7 years so he knows them inside and out. It doesn't like going over 3500rpms, and almost acts like it's leaning out which makes me wonder if it's fuel system or not. Could also be a vacuum problem. But the way I see it I've got ~3000-4000 to fix it up before I'm "underwater" as far as value is concerned.

Update on the engine/tranny issues the more I drive it the better it seems to run. Brought it up to 4.5k rpms the other day just fine. It does have a pretty bad power steering leak so that will be tomorrow nights mission.

Nothing like getting a 96k mile car repoed. SMH.
Nice find. Hope it gives you another 100k+ out of it.

Not yet, though I did it a couple times on the exploder though. RIP my first car. The homie.

Nice truck, thats a good deal on it.

As for the shins, it fucking hurts. I did it on a co-workers truck a few weeks ago.

Replaced the oil cooler gasket, and oil pressure sensor and my leaks appear to be gone. The Valve Cover leaks seem small enough to not have an active drip downwards so I'm going to monitor my oil levels and if I don't have to rush it, I won't. Truck is running great, 2nd gear still has acceleration problems sometimes. And it likes to do burnouts.

Small update. Power steering went out and I'm now competing in Strongest Man competitions.

It does a really weird thing now and I cannot figure it out. If I drive it for more than like 2 hours, it loses like 80% of the throttle. If I try to give it more, it just stutters at a certain rpm range and doesnt go. But as long as I haven't driven it a bunch, it runs through all the gears just fine. I can't figure out why it would be tied to the vehicle running for a while.

Clogged cat?

I agree with nick, cat or possibly fuel pump sounds like the culprit.

yep, it's something getting hot...
cat
could be a short on the o2 sensor that only breaks away once the wire exapnds, etc.
