Kicking around the idea of gettin a new car. One that interests me is the Accord Sport, up to 2015. If I'm not mistaken they have a K24 in them, so I'm not worried about longevity there. I noticed they have a CVT in them tho. I know absolutely nothing about those. Any problems with them? How about any other common problems with the car in general?

My other "possibles" are a Subaru Legacy of about the same year, or maybe a Kia Optima. Guess it boils down to what's available and what kinda deal I can run when the time comes.

cvt sucks balls and a 4 cylinder accord like 2000+ is slowww but all in all they are nice cars but I would spend the very little extra money to get a V6 model, and I would definitely get the Accord over a Optima or a legacy

Well, I'm not worried about being fast lol. I'm too old for that shit. I'm just worried about mechanical issues with the CVT.

I would go Legacy, Our 2008 Civic is a real POS. Some mechanical stuff, some suspension stuff, peeling paint that is one year out of the extended warranty on the paint, and a ripped leather seat at 45k due to a defect that Honda didn't cover.

Don't sleep on the Optima. My friend who doesnt particularly care about cars got a loaded '14 with the turbo and it has every feature imaginable and a little snail to make driving more rewarding. Also, in summer, Cooled Leather Seats are the greatest things ever which they have.

you can get a sport in manual ya know :)
of course, they only come in that crap grey in manual. so dumb.

i've looked at 'em, they are a pretty good bang for the buck.

cvt is awful IMO. I wouldn't want one.

check out the mazda 6 and the sonata as well.

We have a 2011 EX-L with the K24. It's got okay power but mpg's are pretty low. Can't even hit 30mpg. And it creeps up mph like a ninja. Next thing you know....I'm doing 75mph in a 55mph zone. Some say smooth. I like to feel the car more. Hind sight....would've gotten the V6 if I knew the 4cyl sucked up gas too. Also....too much road/tire noise. My 4runner is more bearable.

I'm a bit hesitant when it comes to an Optima. A friend has one and has had problems with it. I understand that's not the case with all of them.

Legacy, is a strong option for me.

Looking for an auto, comfortable ride, comfortable seats. Road noise isn't a deal breaker. Power also isn't a big deal. I just want a decent looking, comfortable somethin or other. I'm pretty flexible on milage too. No major commute, short errands from time to time.

I'm pretty open to suggestions. Want something in white or silver. Would like to put wheels on whatever I get, and lower it a little. That's it. Doesn't need to race car.

i too would skip the subi. in a fb group i'm in called hpdre (high performance driving / racing enthusiasts) i can't even begin to tell you how people justify putting 2 or 3 HG sets in their WRX / WRXSTI over the course of 100k REGARDLESS of tracking or not. not sure on the other models...

but the same could be said for the 14-17 turbo sonata/optima having engine troubles... however hyundai is replacing them under warranty almost no questions asked.

Damn, I didn't know they were that bad. Thinking a Subaru is getting bumped from my list

What models of Subaru are really having the hg issues? I only saw that older 2.5l were having them.
