AC in the car or the house?

I remember the days we used to rip AC out of cars for power/space.
I wouldn't consider owning a car without AC anymore.
How the times have changed.

I cant imagine Texas in the summer with no AC.

most free time will be spent working on the rio, or at the beach. room painting and window replacement will be done in the fall.

Lots of barbecuing, fishing and golfing. Have some house projects as well I'd like to get tackled. Life is good.

AC in my house and my wife's car.

Spending time with my son,

Finally reaching my year of employment at work so I can get vacation time.

Hopefully selling my house and moving into a new one.

Working in the heat and trying not to die. Yay. Few more grad parties, hopefully some tennis and basketball but nothing major.

110° today. It's been terribly hot in Northern California for about a week. It's supposed to drop over 20° in the next week.

New Kenwood deck for my wife's car. I will install it once the weather cools down. The stupid microphone detecting noise cancellation crap in her '11 Accord is stifling any SQ at high volume. It takes bass (and mid) out at higher volume...plus some road noise cancellation that must not work much at all. High volume music is tinny. I put some proven and inexpensive polk audio 6.5" to only find out about this microphone program. New deck will delete that program. It has "android auto" and we'll see how that works. It should let her use the touch screen on the deck to use google maps, ipod, phone, voice to text, and such. USB or bluetooth. HDMI too but I'm not too sure her Galaxy 5 is worthy. Gonna try USB first. Steering wheel audio controls will still work. Most technical deck install I've done. All 7 speakers are off the OEM amp. Special harness with speaker line off Kenwood already converted to RCA. I cannot find wattage ratings on it but I'm guessing 20-30 watts. Might replace amp and sub if my wife isn't happy still. She wants mid volume SQ so I think the deck will be enough.

Here's the deck:

I'll be getting my car ready for the drag strip. Back to drag racing.....Road course racing events make it an expensive weekend plus my desire to drag race is still high. I'm thinking about a dog box. Stock 2nd gear is too touchy. I must be slow and delibrate to not mis-shift. If I'm in an event, I want to win. With bracket racing being so driver skill based, I want consistency.

I'm still figuring it out but I think I need (for a PPG 1-4 dog box) a EP3 (Si) transmission (or EP3 shift forks and another K-series case), 4.7 FD, and LSD. I'm not sure about shift selector. I figure my K20A transmission is desirable and easily sold so I'm trying to keep it complete. People talk about copious amounts of parts for sale on Facebook. I've searched and can't find much.

Random yard projects that never end. Some time on the boat on holiday weekends. Plans to see Tom Petty, Bob Seger, and GNR. And work. Always way too much working involved. Gotta pay for everything else somehow though I guess.

I'm moving to Dallas next week. I bought some tools for the garage so I can get the GTR track ready and do a few of those. Other than that, probably explore nearby areas and goof around.

We're just rackin em up here in Dallas.

Thank god the AC guys came out today. Heat index of 108, dont think I coulda taken it.

how much is your time worth per hour for leisure/enjoyment, vs the guy you'd pay 15 or 20 bucks an hour to do that shit for you?
Enjoy your life man.

(From the guy who mows his own lawn and doesn't take his own advice.)

working on a house is part of owning a house.

we just re-did a floor in a living area. paid a guy... i can't do that stuff.
powerwashed and re-polyfill'ed the patio, working on re-painting the deck and rails soon.
fixed some rusty radiator covers
putting in a new front door
power wash the house
keep the garden up
replacing trim/garden/path/etc rocks 5 decorative bags at a time (as i can pick them up in my car when i'm out in the HD area)

It's funny how differently people look at yard work/projects/whatever.

Some people hate it but it's therapeutic to me.

Last weekend I built a tree ring in the front yard, filled it with 2 yards of soil, 30 perennials, and a yard of mulch.

Parked the truck in the front yard, listened to some music, drank some beers, and worked on my tan.
