So my friend with the fit finally understands that unless he wants to spend a lot of money on a K swap ideally he'd be best served to get a different platform to build on.
The main difference is he intends to daily his whereas my Hondas are the weekend warriors.
His budget is about 7k (after the Fit sells)
We were thinking because money saved is money earned, his requirements are
4 door
Stick shift
Fun to drive
He was looking at the GM-Saab turbo sedans with the Cobalt SS motor but an idea I cooked up was
4 door EK (~1k$)
JDM Type R swap (~3k$)
And then up to 3000 for aditional mods and to complete the swap.
Get a low mileage swap, slap it in there and bam. Daily "Resident Sleeper"
Again this is all good in theory, any reasons why this might not be as easy or viable as we think?
