Figured I would make an official post about this thing. Picked it up on a lease in early January with 11,000 miles on it. When I was looking for one I just wanted premium sound and autopilot. Somehow this supercar beating golf cart fell into that price range so I said fuck it and put money down on it.

I've put about 2,000 miles on it so far and I have fallen in love with this thing. It is seriously amazing. I use the autopilot function every time I commute in traffic. I don't know how I'll be able to give this thing back in 3 years.

Here is the day I took delivery.

Do Tesla's have a safety mechanism that won't allow them to drive away if they are still plugged in to a charger?

You know, I've never gotten into the car while it was still plugged in. I'll report back tomorrow. lol.

does it do ludacris speed ?
It does! I always leave it in ludicrous mode. I have yet to try ludicrous+ mode, it takes like 30 min to condition the batteries for it.

I get a message on the cluster saying "unable to drive, check charge port" Wont let me select a gear.

Latest autopilot update is so much better. Less ping pong between lanes, sees when lanes get wide or narrow now. Much smoother steering. Better handling of approaching traffic situations. Lane change much more natural now. Love it!

Love the color. Similar to my truck. My brother works in their factory in Fremont. Actually made him a sorta car guy. He may have helped on this one, haha.

Nice! I work in the seat factory building. They are moving us in a few weeks down the street. Our team was in the factory for a while as well. What does he do exactly at Tesla?

Tell him those tamper free screws on the bottom of the front plate holders are a PITA to remove.

His team does end of line inspections/corrections. Not sure what that entails exactly, but I believe they look at the customer order and confirm the car has everything it should. Not sure how that works with the Model 3 though.

software updates for cars is neat.... until there's bugs!
My ST would update via wifi in the driveway, in my 2yr ownership the car gained oem launch control and the entire radio interface and navigation system changed

Nothing pisses me off more. All for a fuckin iPhone cable too
