Hi! New to the forums, new to Honda too. I have a 92 EG hatch with the terrible D16B8 and I gotta throw in a K20A to make it a little Type R. My questions are ; is it cheaper to buy a complete engine or actually buy the parts separate and make it? Also how much is a block of said engine supposed to cost? $800? I plan on NOT boosting it because I want to have it last longer than a turbo engine. Any recommendations on making a na fast and reliable? Thanks a ton!

You will pay
$1500-2400 for a motor and transmission. (I'd do K24A2 with Type S trans)
$400-500 for mounts
$200-300 for wiring conversion harness
ECU?
Axles?
Intake?
Header?
Exhaust?
Fuel pump?
Fuel lines?
New clutch?
Etc?
Etc?
Etc?

Kswaps can be somewhat cheap if you get used parts and such. But, in general, it's not cheap. Tons of info online about this swap.

you will spend tenfold more building a engine from scratch and piecing together the swap, pull a full running swap thats factory in your market and get swap mounts and axles, either way you look at it you are going to spend more on the swap > car value and can probably get something faster out of the box with the same $$$ and no down time, just weigh your options, you can make big power bseries for k money also
