Until a few years a go, a friend was rocking an '86 CRX. That is more vacuum lines than anyone should have to be exposed to.

thats what my 2nd car looked like. same body/recessed lamps. 80 vac lines on the cvcc.

I loved my first gen crx si with the dohc zc blacktop, such a fun peppy little quirky car and that dude spent a small fortune of $$$ on those fender and door and front clip plastics

only if non si , the carb'd ones are like 50+ vac lines its terrible lol
Yeah it was carb'd. It's been years since I've been under the hood of that car, I just remember going junk diving looking for a 6 (or was it 7) way vacuum splitter to replace the one that had been super glued multiple times.

That's not mine, was just pointing out the thread. I'm hope to see my old car restored by someone, someday.

Cool car. Very clean. If I had the opportunity to restore a CRX, it'd be a 90-91 CRX Si. But it'd have to be a resto-mod with coiovers, Old School 15" or 16" wheels (preferably SSR Schumachers), GSR swap, conv to hydro clutch at pedal assembly and AC working nice. Thats definitely a sweet dream ride of mine.

That's what's sitting in the corner of my garage right now... 90 CRX Si. Definitely going to be heavy on the mod.

Mod heavy, huh? Like 400+whp?

So pricey to get all new rubber for doors and windows. But I'd like it all clean looking....getting 30+mpg's and running mid 13's on street tires. I'd drive it to work.

What's considered "mod heavy" on a honda these days? I'm not trying to downplay a build, I'm just really detached since it's been so long since I've worked on one.

I sorta feel like they were so complex when we first started working on them and doing swaps. Now i look at them and think "it's just a shell, engine, suspension, wheels, brakes, and tires, boom, done." Aside from the engine and tune, you can build a honda in a week if you have everything collected and together.

The game has changed.... back in the day if you wanted to buy a swap you either had to have a buddy that had one laying around or get lucky on a risky CL find or go straight to a importer ..... today I could piece together a full build locally on facebook marketplace and the same thing goes with tuning everybody and their mama is a honda Chrome tuner or hondata licensed . Rightfully soo the hondas are seen as the lego cars of the import community
