Don't you need to have a career in order to retire? That's like SlammedIntegra89 or whatever retiring from Burger King, you don't make an announcement for that shit, you just do it. Rappers have no skill, all of their beats are premade by someone else, all you need is a reputation. Look at Brian and all those idiots rapping in that thread, the only difference with them is a.) they didnt get shot 9 times, b.) they aren't banging someone famous, and c.) they didnt come from a ghetto and raised by their grandmother because their dad was shot in a drive-by and their mom was slinging crack.

Couldnt agree more.

It does take skill to come up with some of the things they come up with, but I will say a lot of mainstream is just pointless talk...

the Girls Girls Girls remix at the end of the Blueprint was phat, 1st three albums were classics, then he became way too commercial, not that he ever wasn't.

Come on, you can't say something like that. There's plenty of skill involved, ESPECIALLY when it comes to freestyling. Nick, I could say similar things about punk, about how it's all angst-ridden music written by a bunch of whiners and performed by some people who know three cords and know how to turn up their amps.

But I don't. :p :D

But yeah, the new mainstream stuff sucks. The old-school is where the real talent is, from Tribe Called Quest to KRS-One to Run DMC to.....

idiots huh? another temp ban is in the works?

mainstream people have talent, you only have to here one Luda song to know he has skill.

And what about Dre. NWA, biggest rapper of the mid 90's, Eminem. Who else do you know that could do 2 albums in 10 years and be as big as him. Not to mention with him producing even I could go platinum. The man's ability to produce instramentals is amazing. At least rappers produce good vocals, EVERYTHING about punk sux, music, composition, singing, it just sucks. It's an Audiovaccum.
