OK, me and a freind were trying to take his Schroth racing harnesses out of his car. ervything is going nicely until the bolt that holds the drivers side part in was stripped. the bolt on the right hand side of the seat which acually bolt directly to the seat is stripped. we'd like to know how to go about getting that bolt out without messing his car up. no cutting or anything. if anyone has any ideas, they are greatly appreciated!! thanx guys and help me out :worthy:

you have to get a set of bolt extractors..drill a hole into the bolt..and use the extractor for the proper size..and it should come right out...then tap the hole back out...

is the easyout one of those sears things.....the screw out or whatever works great but I was also looking at the socket w/cutting teeth in it....gotta love the bob vila sears stuff

yeah but u never know if the hole is screwed up..better to tape it anyway,,,it wont hurt...but all i buy is snapon..i am not sure what sears has...

thanx for the replies guys.....its a 14mm bolt and just the head is stripped so it wont comeoff.....the son of a bitch who screwed it in the first time must have had a bad day cuz he didnt want it coming out....ill see what i can do with it. thanx again

the stuff I'm talkin about are the sears "innovative ideas" is what I think they call the commercials.......they look cool but I would halft to see it work first.
the screw out I got from em is super cool but I hav'nt used it on car stuff, what I have used it on is a pair of rusted screws that held a bolt lock in my barn door, normal driver broke the heads right off and I could'nt get the assembly off even w/a hole punch...got the screw out for 20 bucks and they worked flawlessly, the bolt out looks great also but I dont know if they have somethin for a bolt w/no head

if it still has some head on it do check out the bolt-out.....its a socket from craftsman w/sharp teeth in it and looks promising....if nothing else it has a money back gaurntee

since the bolt head is srpipped, you can cut some edges into it from the sides so that you can get some vice grips or something onto it. Then back it out!

Try the gator grip wrench. It actually does work. We have one hanging around work.
