What do you guys think about the new vw sedan that costs 80k ? i forget what its called....

but saw one in traffic, and ...YUCK. 80k ????

at least they coulda put some thought into the design of the car.

what do you guys/gals think?

Even with the price tag being very high, the cars been pretty much engineered to perfection, reviews say its been tested to run 180mph and maintain a in car temp of 72 degrees? whats not to like. It's pretty much a dream sedan, and has the price tag of one. Names, Phaeton, if I spelled it right.

ok lovers of this car...

i fly out to your house and give you 80,000 in cash.

on the way to the vw dealership, we happen to pass by the mercedes and bmw and porsche dealerships....

how much you wanna bet you grab the steering wheel and make me turn into anyone of those dealerships BEFORE we hit the vw dealership.

that car has NO styling whatsoever. it looks like a basic sedan. no curves, no lines whatsoever.

so the engine is pretty good. big deal.

that car is a travesty to high end sedans for the simple fact that it just looks too damn plain.

I'm with tony on this one. VW's normally look pretty pimp, but the Phaeton, it is just blah.

Its like a girl. She may be good in the sack, and is a really cool girl, but if she's 300lbs, its not appealing.

The cars great at preforming, but the package is poorly done. Its so plain.

:shrug2: looks just ok to me. But as Tony said I'd probably make him pull over into the porsche dealer.

dude, that car is pimp as fuck...just look at the interior...okay, maybe the exterior is a little bland, but mercedes and bmw's dont look wild either...plus, the 80g version comes with a 12 cylinder? god damn...i would sport it...i actually have seen one in person, and i dont think those pics do the car justice.

I think that it is a pretty sweet ride, but the exterior styling does need some work. I can never see myself spending 80,000 dollars on a VW though.

I'll rock a cardboard box with altezzas if it'll do 180. Styling has nothing to do with it. I think it looks "ok". Not blah, or great, but hey, a little customizing shouldn't be a big deal if you can afford the 80k price tag. <_<

I like it better than most of the new bimmers, I hate the new headlights BMW has. I think the trouble is, no one wants to admit that VW made a car that competes with Mercedes and BMW, they've always been an underdog so to speak, but this car really is nice. I guess you have to be doing 120 and have one smoke by you on the bahn to really appreciate it.

HONDA = ACURA
NISSAN = INFINITI
TOYOTA = LEXUS

VW = ??????????????

at LEAST come up with a luxury car company BEFORE you make the car !!!!!

does this car come with a flower holder on the dash?

can we expect to see it in a 2004 version of herbie the love bug?

v12, very nice. im wondering what the automotive press has to say about this car and its styling. forget about the engine.....what do they say about the style?

Tony, you spout opinion and treat it like fact. Go stick your head in the sand some more. Yes, I'd grab the wheel and go check out a BMW and Merc, but you can bet your ass I'd give the VW (and Audis) a fair chance too. That new VW is beyond pimp. It's svelt. Very svelt.

This thread sucks.
