Is there any companies that you can load a vehicle up into some sort of box trailer and have them drive it to your desired destination??

Reason, more of my moms idea. I am going home for the summer to my parents house in New Mexico, i am in Central Florida now. It is about a three day drive there. So instead of me driving and spending money on gas, food, hotel, and putting extra miles on the jeep, why not ship it. then fly me out, dad has alot of flyer miles to use up.
 
your best bet is a train y0...

arrive the same time as your car minus you driving...
not as fast as a plane but should be faster than driving...
 
I used a large salvage yard in Denver to ship a wrecked car from Colorado to Oregon for like $350. Don't know if it'd be the same for an operational car, but I don't see why not.
 
I dont care much about not having the car there the same time i arrive, i have another car at home that i can use until it gets there. I was thinking a trucking company, something on the land, not air to ship the car.

i honestly think the train would be the most cost effective...

and the onyl reason i mentioned the timing is cause you don;t need a ride home... your ride is there when you are...

note: i hate planes, so that prob affects my view on things...

Yeah, air shipping a car would be ungodly expensive. Not to mention with my luck the plane with my car on it would be the next one landing Air Taliban

maybe in 2006 or 2007, i'm going to try to arrainge a cross country trip like the gumball, only a free for all- buy your own hotels, 100% free. pay your own way kinda deal

I would normally drive it without a problem did it twice last year, once in the car and once in the jeep, before it was lifted. but since this is a lifted jeep that i am planning an taking out there it is going to be alittle more interesting. I love the jeep but it sucks gas like a fat kid loves cake and has the areodynamics of a brick. Plus a three day drive alone is not going to be fun.

Ok So I'm finally gonna post something helpful on the forums....
I've had 3 vehicles shipped to me. 1 from Ohio and 2 from Minnesota. The cheapest place I could find was Able Auto Transport. I called LOTS of places because I'm what you might call a "Baller on a budget." Anyway, I went ahead and got a quote from em for ya. I didn't know what city you lived in so I just said Jacksonville, Fl. to Albuqerque, NM. They said it would be $900. That's including your student discount. They said their quote is a bit higher than normal because the Jeep is lifted, now I don't know how much of a lift or anything and they didn't ask, I just told them it was lifted. So maybe they need a special truck for it. Kinda like if you want a car shipped that won't start they have to arrange it so that you'rs is the last car on and the first off ya know?? Anyway, I would just fucking drive unless you got $900 or so to just throw around.
