I'm about to get a turbo kit on my gs-r just had some questions.

I'm just gonna run 8lbs of boost till i save for new internals, is the stock injectors good enough or will i be pushing the duty cycle to high for stablility.

What is the most cost-effective fuel manag. system out there?
A guy said dont go with vafc2 stick with hondata s200 and add whatever goodies you want programmed in it.

Should i run a 2.75 exhaust? Dont you add 1/2 in for turbo?

If my car already has an oil pressure light then shouldnt i just get a oil temp sensor gauge instead or is the stock warning light garbage. . .

Thanks

The injector's will work "okay" but i would reccomend some dsm's or if you have the money some RC's. By upgrading this part now you will allow for adaquete amount of fuel for now and for when you upgrade your internals.

The most cost effective fuel manament out there is uberdata, crome, etc. The vafc2 will not work as well or give you the best out come as something like uberdata would do.

As for exhaust size I run full 3", DP to muffler. I would run 3" if you can, but 2.75" would be okay.

From my understanding the oil warning light is okay for a stock motor, that is ran under normal driving conditions. But for anything else i would DEFINETLY get an oil pressure gauge, it's one of or if not, the most important gauge in your car. If or when you do get one hooked up i would recommend using an isolator (good deals on ebay) and don't use there supplied nylon hose, I did and ended up with kinks everywhere and not getting proper readings.

Good luck!

hondata dosnt play nice with dsm injectors no one knows why but its true

and cost effective is never a word that should come up in a statement or question about a daily driven boosted honda

if your going to do anything to your car do it the right way PLEASE

the cheap way almost always = the broke way

ROM tuning (Hondata, Uberdate, Crome etc) > VAFC

Go 3 inch all the way back on your exhaust. 2.75 is a weird size, and can sometimes be hard to find anyway.

Stock warning lights are just on/off deals- they only tell you when there's an existing problem. A gauge can show you what the true status is at all times, so you can anticipate a problem before something breaks.

i thought i might just add one thing....before you boost or even start buying parts...make sure the engine is in the best runing condition as possible.....any thing that might be breaking WILL break when you start boosting around town.....

thats all

yeah i just read up on crome version with the auto tuning feature, that seems nice.
Piggyback is considered the vafc right? and the others is stand alone?
I think i'll stick with crome since hondata version was like 3yrs older.
As far as the 3in piping goes whats the best brand name out there for that size 4 my teg?

I plan on running RC's but not sure what size injectors i need for 8lbs and if RC's are just a direct drop in for the stock harness with me having obd-2.

I would never build a cheap set up cause i can only afford to do it right the first time, not like some people that have parents that give them everything. I have to bust my ass for my money and save slowly, but what i meant as far as cost effective is i dont believe i have to pay an arm and a leg for a reliable fuel management system 500-750 seems ok to me.

I dont need a wideband 02 though if im not tuning myself right? I thought that when you take your car to get it professionally tuned that they have there own system that shows them that.

To be honest, instead of internals i was thinking about buying a dart block for reliablitity since they claim you can run like 30lbs with proper tuning. I dont think i'd ever go over 15 but boost might be = to crack as far as wanting more once you try it. :)

thanks and sorry for long thread.

oh a dart block would have full internals ;) and im not sure if buying a pre-assembled block is the cheapest route you could just send your block to golden eagle and bam! 3000 dollars later itll handle more hp than youll want.

you will have to wire in rc's its cake and if your going to be runing 8ish psi for ease of tuning i say go 550 cc

for your piping go to kteller.com (http://www.kteller.com/store/index.php/cPath/23_35_239_193) 225 for full 3in

if you wanna go the chrome route (tuning) your not gunna be obd2 cuz you cant chip obd2 ecus (please corect if wrong)

and if your gunna dyno tune you dont have to get a wideband but its nice to have and its a good indicator of faulty tuning

stock injector is NOT possible to run safely on 1 psi unless you are running an fmu (which you shouldn't be doing anyway).
from the factory, the 240cc injectors are at about 95% duty cycle at 8k on a b18c.

dart blocks are over-rated and very over-priced.
unless you plan to make 700 whp, its not worth your time or effort.

if you're near ct, give me a holler... i'm cheap and i got everything to tune ya up :)
