hello.

how hard is it to put a LSD in a tranny????
IF not than what are the steps?

thanks

Unless you have a good mechanical knowledge I suggest buying the LSD yourself to save markup, remove your tranny yourself to save labour costs, and get it installed in a shop to save hassles/money/time/damage to the rest of the transmission.

LSD's can go into any tranny that you can find one for basically, because it's not actually in the transmission itself... It's more like an anboard differential, mainly to save weight on the drivetrain from having driveshafts, and also a space issue in FWD's.

When you are working in a transmission, you need to know what you are doing with that transmission, there's alot of torque specs, clearences that .005 difference can cause you all hell... just my .02c though.

but take the tranny out your self...then have a rep mech install it

If you go with itr or similar oem lsd from honda then you will also need the diff from that car I believe.

yes everyone is right. remove the tranny from your car but have someone put the lsd in for you its very difficult to put one back together. some mechanics wont even take trannys apart doesnt really have to do with torque specs cuz you dont have to torque anything down. besides the casing bolts which u can just make sure there tight..but i watch a really good mechanic take one apart and its no joke. you have to make sure everything is aligned right and ...trust me its difficult.
